The Thrill of Beating On Your Craft, and Helping Others Succeed
The entrepreneurial journey isn’t a linear race to success, and it’s often filled with twists and turns that are unexpected.
The reality for most entrepreneurs is that their journey found them, not the other way around. I don’t know of many business owners who said to themselves on the playground, “I want to be an entrepreneur…I’m not sure what field, but I think that’s what I want to do.” Rather, the path to entrepreneurship typically begins as a person finds a field that interests them, pursues excellence in that field, and then works tirelessly to improve their abilities.
Once they've stuck to their chosen field long enough, they realize that they can do it for themselves and on their own. At that point, there are two main reasons why new entrepreneurs fail.
Think about a dentist who opens his own practice. Does he excel at both the dentistry AND the bookkeeping? Probably not.
I started my entrepreneurial journey after pursuing a career as a litigator. I never thought that owning a business was going to be my future! After finishing Law School I partnered with a law firm. I was doing exactly what I had planned, but It was unfulfilling. I was stuck in a suit working for someone else, I didn’t own anything, and I knew I just needed to make a change. One day I came home and said to my wife, “Jules, I want to start a pest control company.” I partnered up with my brother who had extensive experience in the sales side of pest control, and together we hammered away at building our brand. Countless hours were spent learning, growing, training, and expanding our business. Since then, I have started and grown handfuls of other ventures, in many different industries.
If you look back at your journey, you can probably see the challenges and obstacles, the successes and stepping stones, that you have encountered in the pursuit of your craft. You realize that so many of the lessons you learned came from the hard experiences you tried your best to avoid or blast through. Your professional journey likely looks pretty different from what you dreamed of at the outset. Maybe things took off right away, or maybe it has taken you much longer than you thought to really accomplish your goals.

Many business coaches claim to have some awesome formula for success but haven’t put in the time to truly test their principles. There’s no “secret formula” that can apply to every person’s business. A true coach should be able to dive deep with you and see where your individual pitfalls lie, as well as the direction and depth of your opportunities.
This is where my strength and passion reside.
You can learn to navigate the treacherous waters of business ownership with the help of people who have had a similar journey. Together, you can build your “portfolio” of experiences, and you can become a Master at navigating the waters of entrepreneurship. The reason why I love coaching young entrepreneurs is because I’ve spent so many years betting on my craft. I have become an expert in starting, running, and expanding my own businesses, and I can contribute highly to those with these same opportunities.
The professional joy that I feel comes less from being the rockstar, and more from being behind the scenes, helping other entrepreneurs become rockstars!
Can you have a high level of success without experiencing many of the pitfalls firsthand? The answer is, absolutely! You can learn not only how to avoid pitfalls, but also how to accelerate your growth by tapping into the experience of others, and using their failures and successes as a cheat sheet for efficient progression.
My mission is to help you create the business of your dreams, accelerate past the pitfalls, and learn things that you may not have been able to discover on your own. Your dreams are closer than you think, and I’m excited to help you get there!
Always believe in yourself and the magic will happen. ✨
