THRIVE ASHEVILLE is seeking a Program Manager.

But this is not your average program manager position. 

The Thrive Program Manager operates differently because our initiatives and projects are collaborative, community-driven solutions. We are testing out new ideas by incubating solutions. With our partners, we learn how to adapt and improve great ideas so that when the timing is right, these programs find sustainable homes and deliver long-term benefits to our city. Our program manager loves our community and builds strong relationships across lines of diversity, and finds innovative ways to involve new and seasoned community leaders. Our program manager keeps the community close by informing and engaging our supporters, our civic and community leaders, and our donors. 

The Thrive Program Manager is:

Creative - a problem-solver with experience in the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of programs. Analytical - capable of pulling varied pieces together in just the right way. Engaging - adept at relationship building virtually/ in-person, a curious listener, a team player. Organized - capable of managing a variety of projects & timelines, with self-directed systems and smooth execution of the details. Loves Asheville and is hopeful about our future.

Requirements:

  • General, background knowledge of Asheville’s major issues, community leaders, and institutions
  • Knowledgeable about issues related to diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Evidence of strong communication skills - written, public speaking, and interpersonal
  • Strong organizational and management skills
  • Experience in outreach, promotion, or marketing through social media and other channels

Responsibilities:

Assist in the research, design, and development of programs with the executive director. Lead the coordination of partners, facilitate communication and promotion, and provide evaluation support. 

Lead and implement the communication strategy. Build the community’s understanding of our work through communications including social media, press releases, newsletters, and our website. Coordinate visual design projects and the development of educational tools on Thrive issues. Level-up community knowledge about our issues.

Build a Thrive constituency to support our work and advocate for our policy agenda. Connect and enhance relationships among Thrive supporters and the organization through events; activate supporters in supporting Thrive initiatives through a membership program and facilitate resource development.

This is a full-time position. The salary range is $45,000 - $55,000/yr depending on experience with 10% health bonus and generous PTO. In-person and remote work is expected.
