Hellenic Bank acquisition of CNP Cyprus


Hellenic Bank signed an agreement to acquire CNP Cyprus Insurance Holdings from CNP Assurances in a deal valued at €182m. The consultation between CNP Assurances and its European Works Council has been completed, paving the way for the acquisition to reach a conclusion. CNP operates in both Cyprus and Greece and includes subsidiaries such as CNP Cyprialife Limited, CNP Asfalistiki Limited, CNP Zois, and CNP Cyprus Properties Ltd.

Hellenic Bank releases 2023 ESG Impact Report


The value of corporate responsibility and sustainable, green development are the compass that guide Hellenic Bank. This is reflected in the Bank's Annual 2023 ESG Impact Report, based on the organisation's revised ESG Strategy which has been incorporated into the Bank's Strategic Plan and includes specific targets across its spectrum of operations.

Fitch Ratings upgrades Hellenic Bank to BBB-


Credit rating agency Fitch Ratings upgraded Hellenic Bank’s long-term Issuer Default Rating (IDR) to ‘BBB-‘from ‘BB+’, with a stable outlook, and its Viability Rating (VR) to ‘bbb-‘ from ‘bb+’. The upgrade primarily reflects the upgrade of Cyprus’ economic rating to BBB+/positive and the improved assessment of the Cypriot operational environment.

Opportunities and challenges through ESG implementation for banks

‘The Furry Book Club’ completed for 2023-24


Twenty nine creative workshops were held, and 300 children enjoyed reading stories in the company of therapy dogs at Hellenic Bank’s Head Office from September 2023 up until June 2024. The program aims to help children with learning difficulties and self-confidence issues through reading alongside trained dogs, but also to encourage reading books at a young age.
