CySEC approves Eurobank’s bid to acquire Hellenic Bank

The Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission on 25 June 2024 approved the publication of the Takeover Bid Document for the acquisition of up to 100% of Hellenic Bank’s issued share capital. Eurobank currently holds 229,029,857 shares directly, equating to 55.48 per cent of Hellenic Bank’s issued share capital, whose securities are listed on the Main Market of the Cyprus Stock Exchange

International credit rating agency Moody’s announced that it has initiated a review for a possible upgrade of all Hellenic Bank ratings and assessments. According to the announcement, this move comes because of the Bank’s improved financial profile and Eurobank S.A.’s acquisition of a majority stake.

Nicosia’s street overflows with colour and optimism
