Texas is 2nd most popular spot for wealthy households on the move


In a state where it takes much less than $1 million in yearly income to live among the top one percent , it's no wonder America's most affluent are flowing in. More are choosing to move to Texas over almost every other state, according to a recent relocation study by SmartAsset. Texas had the second-highest net inflow of affluent households – defined as those with an adjusted gross income (AGI) of $200,000 a year – out of all 50 states in the country.
