TRACK Feature Update: Channel Inventory

TRACK Feature Update: Channel Inventory

At TRACK we recently launched several features out of Beta, while we try and communicate these inside the app to customers and through email, webinars, etc. Not all of our customers see these communications, so I thought I'd post about one of the more interesting features here.

A feature we recently released into GA (General Availability) is called "Channel Inventory" it is in the Property Management Tab by the pricing tools.

This simple piece of functionality allows a PMC to implement the following

  1. Open or close arrival by channel (OTA) including or excluding the direct channel
  2. Set the rule at the unit, location or unit type level
  3. Block availability across multiple OTA channels and/or channel managers from a single screen.

There are quite a few benefits to this functionality. Namely, there are certain times of year, when business would prefer to book reservations from direct demand via their website or reservation team, and while they don't want to pull their listings off the OTA sites, they do not want to incur the extra commission they might incur if they feel they can book the reservation direct. This allows them to quickly close off availability quickly and efficiently for those properties and channels.

In addition, some companies want the ability to leave their inventory on certain channels but not other, this allows a yielding like flexibility that can be quickly adjusted based on demand.

If you have questions about how to set this up and use it in your instance of TRACK - please reach out to us for some help. For those interested in how this functionality works that don't use TRACK, feel free to reach out if you're interested.
