Traffic Analytics

Traffic Analytics

I know that, all my website traffic (movements) are caught in Google Analytics.. But, recently i had a inclination that, some of my website traffic through the campaign has not been caught.

There was an huge difference in traffic..

For instance;

I have decided to run a Email Campaign with 10,000 emails on it. I have sent them an email with the brochure on it.

Out of 10,000 emails; 6,128 emails are opened (i.e) with the OpenThroughRate of 61% and ClickThroughRate of 40%.

After the day passes, i decided to collect the report from google analytics.

I was totally shocked'

As per the google analytics, only 1000 users with the avg.session rate of 13% are encountered. Such a huge difference... !

So decided to use "utm source" code.

Few marketers would have wondering what is utm source code and what's the use of it? for them,

UTM code is a simple code that you can attach to a custom URL in order to track a source, medium, and campaign name. This enables  Google Analytics to tell you where searchers came from as well as what campaign directed them to you.

After customizing the URL, i have sent the campaign again. This time, i can almost see all my session users on it.

There is only a few variation on my audience. Almost 97% of them are caught.

So for those, who are facing difficulties on their traffics; i might suggest using the UTM source code for your better results.

You can generate them through the Campaign URL Builder. You can click on them and you can generate your own customized url's.
