TX gov. wants to fix their problem by having you pay more for Electricity

Due to the catastrophic 2021 blackout causing 200 deaths in Texas, now what to propose dropping the free market system that successfully drove electric rates to one of the lowest in the US

Texas gov. responds to a catastrophic 2021 blackout causing 200 deaths by proposing a bill to change the free market system by guaranteeing more natural gas plants.

No shortage of natural gas plants caused a catastrophic 2021 blackout. It was due to Texas not mandating that electric generating plants to winterize their generating plants resulting in the following:

a)     Wind-generated plants froze and therefore stopped putting energy into the grid;

b) The gas-generated plants had issues with the gas wellheads freezing, which resulted in not enough gas to run the gas turbines, and furthermore, the cooling system froze as well,

c) Coal-generated plants had their cooling system freeze.

d) Nuclear-generated plant's water froze, which is necessary to cool the plant,

b)     Now, with 40% of power plants down for not winterizing and huge demand for Electricity for heating, causing an in balance in the electricity grid. ERCOT ordered a rolling blackout to match what was generated by the remaining 60% that was still producing Electricity going into the grid and what was going out.

The government must take ownership of these mistakes and require all generating plants in Texas to winterize their plants and change the system, not change the free market system that kept electricity rates down.

Texas Gov. wants to solve the problem by demanding more natural gas plants be built, which was not the problem it was because they did not make it mandatory all plants be winterized for a more stable Grid.

Texas Gov. wants more gas-generating plants to be built, which is good. This can be done simply in the same way they encourage Power Transmission lines to be built by guaranteeing those that build transmission lines are ensuring they will have a positive return on investments!
