Plus, we actively pursue the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) No. 4, 12, and 15.  This involves actively promoting inclusive education, advocating for responsible consumption and production, and contributing to the protection and sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems. 

These principles resonate across our diverse ViewBoard® product lines for education and business markets, guiding us from product inception through to the end-of-life disposal and recycling stages of their lifecycle. Establishing industry benchmarks in sustainability—from optimizing energy consumption to exceeding carbon emission standards in the supply chain and meticulous end-of-life management—our ESG commitments manifest in every facet of our ViewBoard Interactive Displays.  

Eco-minded Design 

Our approach to ViewBoard® development considers environmental sustainability at all stages of the product lifecycle, from initial design to end-of-life management. Reflective of this, a remarkable 100% of our current ViewBoard® models hold EPEAT certification, adhering rigorously to stringent environmental performance criteria. This certification encompasses substance management, material selection, supply chain emissions reduction, energy conservation, repairability, and upgradability for enhanced longevity with nearly all plastic elements being fully recyclable. 

In our environmental stewardship journey, we are continuously working to improve our practices. To uphold transparency in our practices, each new ViewBoard® model is accompanied by a comprehensive carbon footprint report that quantifies its greenhouse gas emissions at each stage of its lifecycle using the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Product Attribute to Impact Algorithm (PAIA). This report not only highlights the ecological impact of the product but also underscores the significant strides we make to reduce it with each subsequent generation. For example, the latest generation of ViewBoard Interactive Displays has achieved a remarkable reduction of up to 24.43% in greenhouse gas emissions compared to its predecessor, a testament to our efforts in sustainable innovation.  

Sustainable in Use 

Aligned with SDG 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production, we actively champion sustainable consumption, prioritizing energy efficiency and proudly securing Energy Star 8.0 certification across our ViewBoard Interactive Displays. These models feature meticulously selected high-end components that demand minimal power, complemented by embedded software features like Eco Mode, automatically powering down the interactive display during inactivity. The integration with myViewBoard Manager software—a centralized device management platform—further enhances energy efficiency through remote and scheduled power management. This ensures superior performance in any environment, optimizing energy efficiency and reducing power consumption for end users. Additionally, we empower schools to assess their potential energy savings before committing to a Manager Advanced license by utilizing our Energy Savings Calculator. 

Aiming to transform end users' consumption patterns, ViewBoard Interactive Displays introduce a forward-thinking approach to counter the frequent replacement cycle. The availability of accessories, such as slot-in PCs, cameras, and active and passive styluses for ViewBoard Interactive Displays, empowers users to upgrade their existing ViewBoard Interactive Displays according to their evolving needs. Our recent launch of the EDLA-certified ViewBoard® series and slot-in PCs further evidences this commitment. These devices seamlessly integrate with the Google Play Store and Workplace Suite, while guaranteeing device security through regular updates. This provides extensive compatibility with existing school devices and workflows, minimizing the need for hardware replacements when deploying an EDLA-certified ViewBoard® or upgrading interactive displays—an eco-friendly alternative to a full system replacement. 

Promoting Longevity and Responsible Disposal 

We actively encourage stakeholders and wider society to join us in making environmentally responsible choices. We champion responsible consumption and production through initiatives including enhancing the accessibility of hardware repairs, designing products with easily replaceable components, and collaborating with repair specialists. Demonstrating this, we offer extended warranties and pledge spare parts availability for 8 years post-market entry, ensuring easy accessibility for ViewBoard® repairs. Additionally, to ensure effective end-of-life management, we've formed partnerships with recycling organizations across multiple countries, therefore empowering our customers to embrace sustainable practices.  Demonstrative of this,  we have kicked off a take-back program in 10 European countries, with more to come, in line with Directive 2012/19/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE).
