Vital trade consultation with the EU Commission
58th meeting of the Trade Contact Group

Vital trade consultation with the EU Commission

It’s TCG time already!

The 58th meeting is taking place! Next year the TCG will be 20 years old!

I am very pleased to be joining the regular consultation with representatives from DG TAXUD again – For me, it’s more than 15 years on the TCG. The TCG is very important for developments in the area of customs matters which have a direct impact on our international logistical processes to talk to the EU Commission on this matter.

I am very proud to be a member of the TRADE CONTACT GROUP (TCG) having represented the European ship supplier’s organization (OCEAN). The TCG is important for voicing the requirements of import, export and transit businesses on the one hand and, at the same time, making the best use of our existing trade expertise to help with EU customs initiatives on the other hand.

The agenda is packed with issues to discuss, from the alternative rules of origin under the PEM to Brexit, international cooperation, COVID-19 matters, UCC implementation, Single Window for Customs approach and a discussion on how to take the Customs Union to the next level.

Excited and thankful to be involved.
