Are we a“Modi before Country?”

Are we a“Modi before Country?”

Narendra Modi is the first Prime Minister to return to power winning a bigger vote share for his party. This news was interesting but never amazing. In a country where there is absolutely no sane political alternative to BJP at least at the national level, this was obvious. Today it translates into a real term opposition vacuum in our Lok Sabha and probably very soon it will be in our Rajya Sabha too. Therefore it makes no sense anymore to speak about Parliamentary system of Democracy. This however does not forfeit my right to put across my point of view on today’s governance.  After all we still remain a democratic India

Modi 0.2 kicked off its second term 2 by scrapping Article 370 that gave a special status to J&K and this in my view makes Modi the MAN for all seasons. The entire nation rejoiced this. The nation giving PM Modi and his team a standing ovation for this was entirely  deserving  No doubt it was a national moment of PRIDE  The government now is moving to open an EPFO body  in J&K and offering hardship allowances to officials willing to be posted there . This reflects government’s positive intent to bring J&K into national mainstream of development and energize the human resources in the valley in a positive way. Remember Article 370 was an absolute political set up of Congress to keep the communal hate in the valley roaring and making Kashmir a breeding ground for Militants and the launch pad for terrorism.  Let us not forget that people in the valley remained under fear for seventy long years. Therefore for them to acclimatize to the new positive environment is going to take time. Further when this government speaks its intent to integrate POK it means business and that is surely something that makes us vouch for the MAN with “56- inch CHEST”

Again it is a matter of great pride for our secular India that PM Modi and his government have successfully abolished the triple talaq, the practice under which a Muslim man could divorce his wife by simply uttering ‘talaq’three times. This was for sure government’s sterling move to remove discrimination against women practiced by our Muslim community.

Now to add to all that there is no doubt Modi is the only one most approachable PM that India ever had. I feel he always carries a little of “us” wherever he goes and that at times makes him more Indian than we Indians This is something that truly makes him great. Having said that neither we nor the PM can afford to rest on laurels

India today is under tremendous Economic stress. We are almost left blank and staring at the pathetic unemployment crises, major manufacturing slowdowns  and huge employee layoff besides running out of cash to fund our demands .  At the time of such an Economic slowdown, to watch the PM handing over the FM portfolio to Nirmala Seetha Raman is something that beats my ‘common sense “that remains so close to my heart. On the top of it at a time when women have out done men almost in every department of life our agenda driven press and media keep ranting that Nirmala Seethraman is the first Women FM post-independence. It is more a matter of sadness than laughable when our honorable Union Finance Minister Nirmala Seetharaman blames millennials using Ola and Uber as the cause for auto slump. It in a way testifies that she the 'Minister' is absolutely being run over by a team of bureaucratic leeches of “North Block”

Nirmala Seethraman to me is the first FM to bring out different versions of Annual Union Budget almost every week and sadly none of them smell of any economic corrections.  Neither have they an iota of feasibility to bail out India from the impending economic doom.

We take pride that our PM Modi is getting hugely acknowledged and applauded in the global corridors of POWER,  yet we are not able to think through an  opportunity that the China and USA tariff war  can provide us to leverage our Export potentials  We are neither able to decode avenues of Economic gain  that BRIXIT crises can offer us. We are bent on crucifying our economy by merely making it a dole out and bailout program.  The huge bank mergers that is going on are being touted as bold economic reforms when even the plain eyes can read it as nothing beyond Banking and Balance sheet consolidation exercise.

It is a fact written on the wall that every second youth in India is from the rural area, yet we are nowhere near building infrastructures that can with ease connect our villages to the Metros. Further what is stopping this government from allowing our farmers to become the part of the market economy?  Why are we persecuting them and pushing them to suicide by playing around the economic joke that we call ‘Minimum Support Price.

When a country is in war the entire political community cutting across their party lines, ideologies and narratives plunge in to hold the nation together. Our former PM Manmohan Singh, a world renowned, most learned and most brilliant Economist says Demonetization and faulty implementation of GST are the major reasons that have put India into an absolute Economic chaos. PM Modi should keep aside his political ego and accept this fact. He should realize that calling a Spade a Spade is a noble act that builds trust and creates positivity...

For the sake of India, for the sake of its 1.30 billion and for the sake of Nation’s Economic sanity I only wish that Modi and his team shrug their political differences and invite Dr. Manmohan Singh and accept to implement his suggestions that can who knows galvanize our Economy enough to make it become productive, profitable and powerful to push India into a $ 5 trillion Economy sooner than “24”.

I am R K Laxman’s common Man.  I know my view expressed here is not going to matter at all.  But I am happy I made  my point with  malice towards  none.
