We Like To Utilize The Arts As A Problem Solver, And We've Identified Two Major Issues Facing Our Community - The Lack Of Artist Studio Spaces To Foster Creativity, And An Overwhelming Amount Of Vacant Commercial/Retail Spaces In Our Community.

With That Said We Are Excited To Launch Our Latest Initiative To Help Solve Problems In Our Community Via The Arts - Zero Empty Spaces.

Zero Empty Spaces (ZES) aims to revitalize empty spaces and areas around venues by providing inexpensive studio space for artists in addition to bringing thoughtful, high caliber art installations with accompanying programs that are free to the public with the goal of expanding the audience of contemporary art and helping to create a thriving cultural community throughout Broward County.

Zero Empty Spaces (ZES) provides Greater Fort Lauderdale-based artists with affordable, flexible, and safe working studio space in addition to curating site-responsive exhibitions, education and public programs in empty storefronts and properties around Broward County. 

• The Studios are located in empty storefronts and properties throughout Broward County

• All studios are accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  

• Rent is less than $2 / sq ft and includes all utilities. 

• Leases are month to month providing maximum flexibility to artists

Additional Benefits

Each artist will have their own page on the (ZES) website displaying images, artist’s statement, contact information (if desired) and links to artist’s website(s). 

The space will feature a number of studio/exhibit tours for collectors, curators, residents and gallery owners, as well as, programs such as panel discussions, music and performance evenings, and artist conversations.

Model

Zero Empty Spaces (ZES) studio spaces are rented on a month-to-month basis and include all utilities at less than $2 / sq ft. Studio / Space sizes range from 1200 sq ft - 2900 sq ft and are accessible 24hrs a day, 7 days a week. The exhibitions, education and public programs are free and accessible to everyone and bolster the surrounding local businesses through the increased flow of visitors that these exhibitions attract and by arranging programs such as panel discussions, music and performance evenings, artist conversations and more.
