We Recruit Well | November 2023

There are few things more motivating to your team members than expressing gratitude for their hard work and dedication. We’re always looking for innovative ways to say “thank you” to foster a positive work environment and build strong relationships. Anytime we find virtual appreciation ideas, we want to give them a try. Perhaps one or two of these will resonate with your team.

  1. 📝 Gratitude Wall - Set up a physical or virtual "gratitude wall" where employees can post notes, photos, or videos expressing their gratitude for their coworkers' help or support. Check out Tribute to create a one-of-a-kind group video.
  2. 🎉 Random Acts of Kindness Day - Designate a day where your team can surprise each other with random acts of kindness, such as bringing in snacks, leaving handwritten notes, or organizing surprise virtual events.
  3. 📧 E-Cards - Sending interactive digital cards is an easy way to let others know how much you appreciate them. We especially like services that allow you to send by text or email such as those found at Punchbowl.
  4. 🏆 Peer Awards - Allow team members to nominate and vote for their colleagues to receive unique awards, such as "Best Problem Solver.” For an extra creative touch, make custom GIFs or memes that humorously acknowledge their accomplishments.

Keep in mind that the key to expressing gratitude is keeping it genuine, personal, and reflective of your unique work culture. You can’t go wrong when you choose approaches that align with your team's values and preferences.

Until next time,

Beth and Paige
