WE WANT TO HELP YOU
Last week was an incredibly tough week for the entire world but having browsed social media at the weekend it would seem we are starting to get back a sense of community that might have been lost.
Many communities have implemented the rainbow in the window for school kids because they are isolated from their friends so that whilst they are on isolated walks, they can feel connected to their friends by spotting and counting the rainbows. On my son's school Facebook page one of the teachers has suggested putting a teddy in the window so that people can go on an isolated bear hunt.
Another thing I have seen is the green / red card system. If you are good and stocked up you put the green card in your window to let everyone know you are okay. If you are not able to get something you desperately need you put a red card in the window and someone would knock on your door to go and get you it. Incredible community spirit.
On Friday night I had a group video call with some of my best friends (locations from Wales, Birmingham, Portsmouth, London, Bristol) where we spent a good hour catching up over a few beers discussing the impact last week has had on several businesses. The last time we all caught up in person was at one of their weddings in France last July and whilst we could have been doing this anyway, it was because of being in isolation that we were forced to utilise technology in a way that we had never done so before!
A lot of people unfortunately lost their job but again on social media there were a lot of posts about people taking part time jobs to help the NHS, local supermarkets and anywhere else that might be feeling the strain of what is going on.
At this unprecedented time in the world, it has been incredible to see everybody helping one another out and doing what they can to help pull us through this.
We are no different at the Frank Recruitment Group. We are people too with family members, friends and colleagues who are being affected by this and we are trying to help out where we can. We are looking to help as many people affected by this situation get back into employment as soon as possible. We have got a number of clients across the globe who are still looking for staff – even more so now that their whole IT function has to be sorted remotely.
