Weekly Briefing - Industry Alert: FDA's Tighter Traceability Rules for Seafood Imports

As the U.S. tightens its traceability rules for seafood imports by January 2026, a panel of experts at warns that the industry may be underprepared - and say "Knowing your supply chain has become even more critical."


The panel highlighted that the NOAA and FDA require different traceability records - and by January 2026, the FDA will implement stricter traceability requirements for all seafood imports, including processed seafood - the "FSMA" rule.
