We’re Hiring a Director of Pricing at HubSpot!

When I joined HubSpot in 2016, I was drawn to HubSpot’s mission is to help millions of organizations grow better. As we look to execute on that mission, a simple, fair, and transparent pricing & packaging strategy is foundational to our success. HubSpot’s business is rapidly growing in size and complexity, making those three tenants increasingly important for our customers, and we’re looking for a Director of Pricing who can balance those objectives against our aggressive growth goals. Given we’re in the early stages of scaling our pricing team, I wanted to provide a glimpse into what this role will be exposed to and why I personally think the Director of Pricing role is such an amazing opportunity. 

Define a new function: We are in the early stages of defining what the pricing function should look like at HubSpot and how it gets leverage from the analytics + operations resources around it. The Director of Pricing will deeply influence how these resources come together to deliver the most value for HubSpot and our customers. 

Customer impact: At HubSpot, the customer is truly at the epicentre of everything we do, with leadership even dubbing 2019 as ‘year of the customer.’ Customer impact is at the center of every decision we make so we’re investing in Voice of the Customer and Customer Experience measurement functions to help us incorporate the customer viewpoint into our priorities and strategy. Our pricing team is on the front lines in HubSpot’s customer-first mission, as several of our key “sharp edges” in our customer experience are pricing challenges. The Director of Pricing will have an immense impact on HubSpot’s customer base and be at the forefront in our journey to help our customers grow better.

Product partnership: This role will work with HubSpot’s product leaders daily, particularly the General Managers of each HubSpot ‘Hub’. You’ll be involved in the formative stages of new products, editions, and businesses. You’ll get to see first hand how a leading product team in SaaS executes and build lasting relationships with Product Managers and Engineers. 

Transition to a product driven go-to-market: HubSpot in the middle of an ambitious transition towards a product led go-to-market model. Our freemium business has taken off and is now a major driver of our go-to-market. We need our pricing & packaging strategy to be best in class in order for the transition to really be transformative for HubSpot’s growth. The Director of Pricing will work hand in hand with our leadership team and Product organization, particularly our Growth Product Group, to make this happen. 

This role will have tremendous strategic impactat HubSpot and you’ll be joining a team that is incredibly gritty, fun, and looking for a fresh perspective on a regular basis. We know we don’t know everything and we’re looking for a leader who will be as excited to come to work at HubSpot every day as we are. As I look at the growth opportunities ahead of us in 2020, I’m as confident as ever there’s no better time to join HubSpot!
