What Earth Will They Inherit?
Rukmini Foundation’s mentors and students celebrated Earth Day by planting trees.
This activity is crucial for the environment and symbolic of the life journey that our scholars are making.
For trees to grow, they must be nurtured, protected, and provided with all the "tools" that are necessary for them to thrive in their existing environment.
The survival of trees is often threatened by climate change, pollution, disease, and human eradication. In the same way, access to education for hundreds of girls in Nepal is often threatened/prevented by a lack of finances, early marriage, child labor, human trafficking, and preventable health issues.
In order for the scholars we support to attend and remain in school, they need financial assistance, access to health care, and supportive mentorship services, all of which Rukmini Foundation provides.
The growth of each tree represents the growth of each student, who will hopefully pursue her purpose and become a leader/change agent in the community she serves.
