What if I had chatGPT in kindergarten ?

What if I had chatGPT in kindergarten ?

What if I (personally) had chatGPT in kindergarten?

I must be one of the few children to ask (in kindergarten) the teacher a question

“What are Posies?”

As in the nursery rhyme “Ringa Ringa roses - a pocket full of posies”

The question was logically correct.

I grew up in India.

We had roses.

But I never heard of Posies.

The teacher said they  were a type of flower .. which is a technically correct answer.

But, later, I knew the song itself has a dark connotation with the Black death / Plague

I think based on the same artefact (poem) - other children could have other questions depending on their unique context - and would each anchor the poem in their own context.

At that age, I did not know another personal context - that I was on the high functioning autism spectrum - and maybe that exploratory format of learning was more natural to me

I am not advocating  giving chatGPT to five year olds .. however ..

I am advocating that the relationship of individuals to knowledge is permanently changed and is now personalised. This has many implications - for teaching, jobs, skills etc.

I am sure that would be other five year olds like me also :)

I strongly doubt that you would be the genius person that you are today if you had chatGPT in kindergarten! Our brain works in 4 dimensions. Our imagination in more dimensions. I suspect that a way to reduce brain competencies is to contextualize it to lesser dimensions... A screen is a screen... Meanwhile 😎
