What we're looking forward to in 2023, and why you should be too!

We asked members of the UK Education team to tell us what they are most excited about for the year ahead. Here are some of the highlights coming up in 2023!

“This year I am most excited about seeing the entries to our first Oxford Schools Science Fair! I can't wait to see how groups respond to our themes of ecosystems, chemical reactions and sound and get stuck in with practical science.” Fiona Lloyd-Williams Marketing Manager, Science

“I'm really looking forward to talking to lots of teachers while developing a new digital maths proposal and launching Oxford Smart Mosaic into the KS3 market.” Paul Repper Maths Publisher

“I can't wait to get more feedback from the Oxford Smart Activate Pioneer schools, and then there are the secret projects with exciting new people that the team are working on! Watch this space.” Lamorna Newcombe Science Publisher

“Launching our first revision for KS3 book - Oxford Revise for KS3 Science. People are already excited about it - I can't wait for them to have it in their hands." Becki Bradshaw Revision Publisher

“Watching the growing success of the Oxford Smart Curriculum Service for Science, Maths and English.” Heather Keltie Head of Secondary Sales

“We will be launching a new KS3 course, called Source to Summit, and I can't wait to share it with RE departments.” Minh Ha Duong RE Publisher

“I'm looking forward to getting out into schools more to test our designs with the people who matter most - the children and teachers!” Campbell Michelle Head of Design, Primary Product and Schools Marketing

“I think it would have to be the launch of Quest and the Oxford Smart Curriculum for English in February. Oh, and carrying on working with our wonderful Pioneer Schools; going to visit them and see how they're getting on.” Katie Lowe English Publisher

“I'm looking forward to the launch of our new KS3 series, Vif! I've really loved working with reviewers to ensure that it is as representative and diverse as possible, to reflect all learners in the classroom.“ Naomi Crookston MFL Publisher

“I'm looking forward to getting back out to conferences, with the GA top of the list!” Rebecca DeLozier Commissioning editor, Geography

“We've got some amazing picture books coming out this year, from the funny to the factual. Some highlights include Who Ate All The Bugs? which is the true and gory story of the food chain, from Super Happy Magic Forest Creator Matty Long, as well as The King's Runaway Crown, illustrated by Ian Smith. It's a coronation caper following the escapade of Colin, the King’s dog, who runs off with the crown just hours before the coronation... We also have Thunderboots from Naomi Jones and Rebecca Ashdown - a story with a dsylexia theme and celebrating being different as a superpower. I'm looking forward to these publishing as well as many more wonderful titles.” Anna Shannon Marketing Manager, Picture Books

“We've got some really interesting conversations and events planned with guests including Aaron Wilkes, Alice Visser-Furay, Helen Prince, Gaurav Dubay, and some of our Oxford Reading Buddy schools. Watch this space!” Sam Evans Communities Manager

“I'm most looking forward to being able to get out in schools more and better understand how Oxford can help.” Eleanor Apps Head of Marketing, UK Schools

“We are excited to bring a range of new depth studies to our KS3 and GCSE History range which have been commissioned as part of our commitment to the inclusive presentation of diverse histories and perspectives, to help teachers diversify their curriculum.” Sarah Flynn Humanties Publisher

“So many things, but I think my overarching hope for 2023 is that we can continue to build our Raise a Reader programme that is about helping every child to become a reader and have access to books in their lives.” Helen Freeman Director of Early Childhood and Home Education

"We've got some exciting projects underway this year to help us better understand and support our Kerboodle subscribers." Fiona McCollum Marketing Manager, Kerboodle

"I'm so proud that Oxford Reading Buddy has been shortlisted for a BETT Award in the Primary - Digital Learning Product - Language & Literacy category. It's wonderful for the whole team to receive this industry recognition and we're looking forward to the awards evening on 29th March." Claire Mullen, Marketing Manager, Primary
