What’s in the iPhone 14 for Business?
At its September 7 Event, Apple unveiled the new iPhone 14, which comes with some features of interest to enterprise business customers.
Fast and bright
The iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max both feature Apple’s A16 Bionic, which Apple says is the fastest chip ever in a smartphone. As businesses leverage more and more mobile devices with specialized applications designed for specific workflows, that blazing speed will boost productivity and improve user experiences. Both models have a new Super Retina XDR display with a peak brightness outdoors that’s twice what the iPhone 13 Pro has. That’ll be well received by field service workers who often need to see their phones in bright sunlight.
Easy to manage
With the iPhone 14, Apple is completely doing away with physical SIM card slots in favor of eSIM. It’s not new technology, but eSIM means a phone can be transferred between wireless carriers through software rather than having to swap out a physical SIM card. As companies look to get the best price on data plans, not having to physically swap out cards will make the process simpler.
Better low-light camera
Apple says the iPhone 14’s 48-megapixel main camera has a quad-pixel sensor and “Photonic Engine” that dramatically improves low-light photos. Since many business users often need phones indoors to document important things, that ability to capture better images in even poor light conditions will come in handy.

New safety features
The iPhone 14 line features an accelerometer that can detect a car crash and even dial emergency services if the operator is unconscious. The iPhone 14 also has emergency SOS via satellite, which enables messaging with emergency services when outside of cellular or Wi-Fi coverage. For workers in the field, the new features will enhance safety.
Exclusive software enhancements for iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max with Dynamic Island
Apple further blurs the lines between hardware and software with “Dynamic Island,” which is a new way to interact with the iPhone. It adapts in real-time to show important alerts, notifications, and activities. Ongoing activities running in the background, like Maps, third-party apps, or a timer, remain visible and interactive. Like Apple’s recent ‘Focus’ updates for iOS, this is another feature to help further streamline its users’ experience making iPhone, once again, a standout device for all end users and demanded by many of those same users in the workplace.
Less environmental impact
With more recycled materials used internally and fiber-based packaging, the iPhone 14 is a win for companies looking to be as environmentally responsible as they can. Apple says it’s on track to remove all plastic from packaging by 2025.
The iPhone 14 is a powerful tool for business
With the iPhone 14, Apple is taking its smartphones to the next level and making them even more indispensable for the workplace.
