What's with programable thermostats

To set your thermostat, follow these general steps:

  1. Determine the desired temperature: Decide on the temperature you want your home to be. This will depend on your personal preference and the time of day or year.
  2. Locate the thermostat: Find your thermostat and make sure it has power. Some thermostats are battery-powered, while others are connected to your home's electrical system.
  3. Adjust the temperature setting: Most thermostats have an "Up" and "Down" button to adjust the temperature setting. Use these buttons to set the desired temperature.
  4. Choose the fan setting: Some thermostats allow you to choose between "Auto" and "On" fan settings. "Auto" means the fan will only run when the heating or cooling system is actively running, while "On" means the fan will run continuously. Choose the setting that works best for you.
  5. Check the mode: Make sure the thermostat is set to the correct mode (heating or cooling) for the season.
  6. Save your changes: Some thermostats will automatically save your changes, while others may require you to press a "Save" or "Confirm" button.

Keep in mind that specific thermostat models may have different instructions for setting them, so it's always a good idea to consult the user manual for your particular model.
