When Cadet pilot program may resume, Golden Epaulettes Aviation
We are aware that many of you are patiently waiting for indigo Cadet program to be resumed since last two & half years.
Now this is the question in everyone's mind
When it may be resumed?
Definite answer to questions isimpossible to give but there is always a sound thought process which one can apply to come at certain conclusions
So let's take a holistic picture of entire scene.
There were about 400 Pilots ( cadets+non Cadet) who were waiting for to be inducted before covid striked.
Thus all kind of induction was put on hold so all of those ppl were also asked to wait and they waited for good two years and about 6-8 months before indigo resumed their induction.
And currently most of those guys are already inducted and are in different phases of training.
Some are at ground classes stage , some are at supernumery stage & some are at final stage of SLF.
So to complete training of all these ppl , it will take about an year time.
Does that means if these 400+ people once becomes First officer than indigo will have surplus pilot so no need to hire new one?
Definitely not because if you are in touch with any indigo pilot he or she will tell you that during these two years of covid indigo never stopped command training so during this period about 380+ First officer's are already upgraded to commanders so these newly inducted people will only replace those FO's who are upgraded as captains
So conclusions is there will he a definite demand for new pilots.
Now you all aware indigo has huge orders and evey month they get one or two airplane and still Cadet pilot program is on hold, why?
Knowing fully well even if indigo resumes Cadet pilot program today still it will take another 2 years for those Cadet to get ready to fly their airplane.
But still they are keeping Cadet progress on hold why?
In my personal opinion there one big concern which airline facing is supply of engine & aircraft equipment for their fleet due this Russia-ukrain conflict.
If you happen to visit airport recently you will find about more than of go air fleet is ground due to this equipment supply issue, similarly indigo has more than 40 airplane grounded and parked at delhi and other airport.
When this supply chain issue resolve nobody knows and airlines are in dilemma of the same.
So with that many ground airplane indigo does not need new pilots now and they most likely to see how external factors pans out in next few months.

In our assement indigo once all these grounded aircarft come back into air and new deliveries remains on steady path than company may be need of new pilot even at immediate basis.
Government focus on Aviation Growth / Infrastructure will also lead to more demand Pilots in Indigo. (modify the language)
In that case they can go for external A-320 rated pilots or CPL holder but they will also have to resumed their Cadet pilot program for requirement of next two years.
What we belive once External factors like Russian & ukrain conflict ends and things becomes clearer, the Cadet program may resume.
