When are you enjoying the sun, why businesses should be thinking about Christmas?

In a competitive marketplace as a business, it's important to find ways to stand out from the rest. It could be little tricky to plan your seasonal marketing as likelihood that your competitors could pick up the same trend as you. Therefore, you need to find a difficult way, which your competitors may have missed and fill the gap. This why sending a brand gift will give you that edge and get people to remember you brand and build a foundation for your future growth.

Traditionally, Christmas is the season of goodwill, where people exchange gifts between each other, normally to family and special friends. When you give a gift, you can see the delight you have given to that person. This is the same in business when giving a gift to you clients it’s shows you have appreciated them and value their business, this also something you can do with your staff.

In a recent study, its claimed that “it costs five times as much to attract a new customer than to keep an existing one. By giving a gift to your client it will strengthen relationships with them and they would more like stay with you than to your competition.”. Businesses need customer loyalty to help them get through the next year.  Also, when you have good relationships with your customers, they are more likely to recommend their friends and family.

Have you ever been given a gift your bosses, how did you feel afterwards. When at Reading University Students Union, at Christmas we would all taken out for Christmas meal paid by our bosses. As a line manager I always give my team a gift at Christmas to show them I apricated their hard work. When you treat your employee to a meal or give them a gift, it makes them fill special and value. In return they are more likely to be motivated to the business and would go the extra mile to achieve the company objects.

Why Should I think about Christmas branded gift Now?

You would not believe how many businesses leave it too late to send that gift to their client. Losing the opportunity to cement relationships with current customers. Unfortunately, people forget about how busy the factories can be nearer to Christmas. Or looking for ideas to choose from, not risking rushing for a product, which if wrongly chosen could damage that relationship with your client.

What about stock availability, suppliers will have done their forecasting on top selling lines but will take time to produce the level of stock needed, if its bespoke product then it would take longer. One of the biggest stumbling blocks, is the artwork not being in the correct format or need to be produce.

Another issue some businesses forgets is the lead times to shipped once the product is ready.  As large amount of products is manufactured overseas, and to keep the cost down the supplier would transport by sea than air frigate.  This form of transport is also good for the environment and we all should do our best to reduce the Carbon footprint.

Another reason why you think about Christmas now, is that you would like to receive the gift in time to arrange a client catch up meeting. If you send the gift by post, it will add extra cost, risk of it being lost, but you can not best meeting someone in person. Seeing their surprise, reaction when you give them your gift, making both of you feel special.

Last year, one of my clients, approached me in July wanting ideas for Christmas gifts, which allowed me time to give her ideas. We were able to deliver in time, so she could see her clients before Christmas. Unfortunately, another client asked me in mid-October, and we were unable to deliver before Christmas, they lost the opportunity to cement their relationship with clients.
