Removing The Barriers From Windows Upgrades

Removing The Barriers From Windows Upgrades

Maintaining legacy systems within the NHS is not only a significant cyber security challenge, it's also preventing many Trusts from migrating from #Win10 (Which goes end of support Oct 2025) to #Win11. This blog focuses on how #Droplet can be used to migrate any x86 app to #Win11 and deliver it via #Cyberessentialsplus standards of cyber security.

Droplet's unique approach to delivering Windows apps and our dedication to security, is a major factor in why many NHS Trusts already use us to secure, protect and migrate any of their vulnerable Windows x86 apps (client or server) which in-turn has helped them overcome any software compatibility challenges in achieving cyber accreditation status.

Software compatibility is the #1 reason why the NHS rely on outdated, vulnerable software, which as a result weakens their security posture, putting them at a high risk of being breached. Mainly because they don't have an upgrade path, or budget to upgrade.

Droplet Support Any Windows Application, Legacy or Modern

  1. Droplet containers can be used to securely deliver any Windows client or server application (legacy or modern) to your choice of operating system.
  2. We securely deliver Windows applications to any Windows, MacOS, ChromeOS and Linux, it also supports AWS Azure and Google Cloud platforms
  3. Upon installation, we create an isolation layer between us and the host operating system on which we're installed, lets say (Win11 desktop)
  4. This isolation layer is critical for any legacy apps that's preventing you from achieving the latest cyber essentials v3.1 security status.
  5. Administrators can then install any legacy or modern Windows app, plus any dependencies inside our container such as (Java/Internet Explorer/.NET)
  6. We can support applications that need to connect via USB ports to an expensive piece of machinery, such as an MRI scanner which runs on Win7
  7. At no extra cost, Droplet includes a full set of easy to configure tools, including a built-in firewall, encryption layer and an intrusion detection system.

Through our dedication to security and unique approach to application delivery, many UK NHS Trust have now embraced Droplet to help address vulnerable (out of support) Windows apps, and help them achieve not only cyber essentials but cyber essentials plus and NIST accreditation status.
