This instructional strategy makes the content more relatable, helping you establish a genuine connection while increasing engagement and comprehension.

Why use storytelling in eLearning

In online courses, the use of narrative by instructional designers facilitates the development of compelling connections with remote learners.

One of the earliest and most fundamental ways to learn is through storytelling. The previous three centuries, or the "modern period," have seen a change in the way that stories are used to learn because of a push toward scientific research.

Storytelling is seeing a renaissance in e-learning due to its alignment with constructivist pedagogies.

Even though you may be able to spot a great story when you hear one, you might not know what exactly makes a story amazing.

Furthermore, you might be unsure of where to start when it comes to teaching your students how to write stories. For a narrative to serve as a medium for instruction and learning, instructional designers need to possess a firm grasp of the story's fundamental components.

Consider your all-time favorite book, TV series, or film. Did the protagonist in that tale take a similar or the hero's journey?

A "narrative epistemology" is how instructional designers are starting to perceive stories as a means of knowing. Stories can serve as the foundation for teaching and learning because of the way they are written.

Story has served, is serving, and will continue to serve a variety of purposes in the educational process. Narratives captivate students and offer a framework for arranging information into digestible segments to facilitate retention.

Since stories are engaging to students of all ages and offer valuable teaching opportunities, it makes sense in some situations to incorporate them into various training areas.
