A Year to Celebrate: Commemorating 25 Years of Success
What does it mean for an organization to reach the 25-year milestone? It’s no doubt that a quarter of a century is a long time, but for INTUITIVE, it’s just the beginning.
Founded on June 3, 1999, by Harold Brewer and Rey Almodóvar, INTUITIVE began as a two-person operation out of Almodóvar’s house. Since then, our company has grown to a 550+ employee, multi-award-winning corporation that looks back fondly on humble beginnings. We have thrived, expanding to 24 unique locations across the nation and being honored with awards that recognize our genuine culture and technical expertise.
However, none of this would be a reality without dedicated employees and intentional leaders with meaningful goals – it all starts at the top.
“From day one, Rey and I were determined to build a world-class, go-to engineering and analysis firm that would become renowned in the aerospace and defense industry,” said Brewer.
Reaching this milestone, and surpassing it, has been the plan all along. Beginning with our founders, our approach to customer relationships, technical skills, and company culture has set us apart, preparing us for the next 25.
An Award-Winning Approach
As we celebrate our 25th anniversary, we feel pride in everything that truly makes us INTUITIVE.
It’s always been our people that have both set us apart and propelled us forward. Many have said that INTUITIVE hires ‘Swiss Army Knives’ - those who are adaptable, dedicated, and intentional. However, this doesn’t just exist within the walls of our office; this approach is exemplified on customer sites and throughout our communities. This has resulted in incredible accolades, like being the first inductee to the Huntsville/Madison County Chamber’s Best Places to Work Hall of Fame, and even being inducted into the Alabama Engineering Hall of Fame just this year. President and Chief Executive Officer Vergenia Shelton says that “The vision of our co-founders, Harold Brewer and Rey Almodóvar, brought us to this moment, and it is our unwavering commitment to continue their mission by pushing the boundaries for the next 25 years.”

For over two decades, we have prioritized both excellence and learning throughout our culture.
At INTUITIVE, we prioritize the growth and development of all our employees, offering opportunities for them to succeed and learn from their experiences. Electrical Engineer Ben Lehe emphasizes this by explaining how “We are all given opportunities to succeed or fail on our own. INTUITIVE’s corporate structure is relatively flat, this is so we can foster an environment where employees of all experience levels can work together on similar tasks. By intentionally growing with a structure like this, our employees experience personal and professional growth to the fullest extent, promoting diversification of skills and independence through ideating and taking initiative.
