On April 8, the moon will completely obscure the view of the sun in a total solar eclipse. An eclipse marks “an ending and a beginning,” says Claude Chalk, an astrologer and driver on the Lyft platform. In this one, people will stop focusing on how others view them and start focusing inward.

When the eclipse happens on April 8, many cities across the U.S. will be along the “path of totality” – meaning they’ll likely get to witness the moon’s shadow completely covering the sun.
