Your Most Important Business Asset

Your Most Important Business Asset

For online business owners, the social media world seems a little volatile right now.

Social media grew so fast without boundaries. And, now they are realizing that they need to pull in the reins a bit in regards to data tracking and privacy.

As a business owner, this directly impacts your ability to grow your business.

Apple’s newest IOS update allows users to opt-out of data tracking. Therefore, if you’re running paid traffic, your life just got a bit more difficult.

Not to mention there are other circumstances--people shutting down their own social media accounts or you losing access to your account, to name a few--that could cause you to lose contact with people on your list on social media.

You may be thinking: But, social media is so important to my growth strategy. What does this mean for me?

It means that, for your business, moving people away from social media and onto your email list is vital to growing your business.

Changes like this just prove that when you don’t own that main platform on which you communicate with your audience, you run the risk of losing your audience if that platform disappears or if they make changes that will impact your business.

Social media is in control of your customers. The platform determines who sees your content and when. Therefore, the role of social media in your marketing strategy must evolve.

Think of it this way: Social media is a lead generator. But, your ultimate goal is to transition those leads to your email list.

Why?

Email marketing is still the most effective way to close sales.

Thus, making it your #1 asset in your business.

With your email list, you have the control. You are in control of the message and the timing.

To build a strong email list, build a solid funnel that introduces your audience to your business and nurtures them as they begin to know, like, and trust you.

Start with an amazing lead magnet that offers value and captures that attention of your audience. In exchange for this piece of value, people will want to give you their email list.

Your email list is the foundation of your business. And, you’re in direct control of that foundation. You’re able to speak to them directly. You have the power to nurture that audience, increase engagement, and grow your business.

A solid email list allows you to continue and grow your business regardless of what happens in the ever-changing digital landscape.
