Connection, collaboration, and learning! It's all happening at the African Centre of Excellence for Population Health and Policy at BAYERO UNIVERSITY, KANO . Working closely with our dedicated partners at the center, we've engaged 30 talented physicians, nurses, and technical specialists in an immersive simulation course focused on OBGYN and pediatric care. These sessions provide invaluable opportunities for knowledge sharing and skill-building, as both teams benefit from each other’s experiences and expertise. Together, we're creating a supportive environment for sustainable, simulation-based education that will have a lasting impact. Thank you to Michelle Niescierenko, Jennifer L Arnold, Brianna OConnell, and Rebecca Williams, CHSOS, for your fantastic work thus far! #globalhealth #healthcaresimulation #globalhealthpartnerships Boston Children's Hospital

David Lieber, MS and Mirette Dubé of the 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 & 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 service line recently facilitated a 𝘂𝘀𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 for the Applied Engineering and Training & Performance service lines. “Usability testing is a cost-effective, systematic way of observing 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘀 trying out a product and collecting information about the specific ways in which the product is 𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘆 or 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁 for them”(*). Usability assesses how easy it is to use a system, considering things like efficiency, user satisfaction, and error prevention. The session equipped the service lines with foundational principles and tools to integrate usability testing into their work. #HFSD #UsabilityTesting #AppliedEngineering #TrainingandPerformance #HCSim #MedEd #ClinEd #Simulation *Reference: Dumas, J. 🌍✈️ The IDS team is in Nigeria! We're excited to partner with Boston Children's Hospital's Margaret C. Ryan Global Health Program and the African Centre of Excellence for Population Health and Policy BAYERO UNIVERSITY, KANO to bring healthcare simulation training to Kano. Our travel team— Michelle Niescierenko, Jennifer L Arnold, Brianna OConnell, and Rebecca Williams, CHSOS—is ready to lead two immersive instructor courses this week. We'll be working with 30 participants, including physicians, nurses, and technical operations specialists, to provide hands-on simulation faculty education focusing on obstetrical and neonatal care. This collaboration goes beyond skills—it's about creating a culture of psychological safety in healthcare simulation, allowing participants to learn, practice, and refine their techniques in a safe and supportive environment. Stay tuned for updates from the ground in Nigeria as we work together to with local clinicians and educators to elevate healthcare standards! #HealthcareSimulation #GlobalHealth #TeamIDS #SimulationTraining #Nigeria #MedEd #ClinEd #HCSim

The IDS Training and Performance team, in partnership with Boston Children's Hospital's Network Development, had the pleasure of visiting Stamford Health to deliver two days of in-person faculty development and one-day virtual session that included physicians, nurses, respiratory therapy, simulation delivery specialists, and administrators. Participants were taken through the process of planning, designing, delivering and debriefing simulation-based activities. The curriculum included adult learning theory, delivery and debriefing methodology, the #SIMZones framework, #psychologicalsafety and hands-on exercises to provide them with a comprehensive foundation in providing immersive learning experiences for their staff in a safe space. The participants' willingness to challenge themselves both personally and professionally in order to enhance their practice and contribute to outstanding care at Stamford Hospital was truly impressive. Many thanks to Karen Gruskin, Medical Director of Hospital Partnerships and Barbara Carr, Service Line Director of Women's and Children's Service Line at Stamford Health, for bringing our organizations together. Karen Gruskin, Jessica Sexton, Saja Traoui, Brianna OConnell, Matthew Taylor, Anderson Lamberto-Wilson, MSW and Scott Cook, MS teamed up to deliver the three days of faculty development. IDS looks forward to further partnerships with Stamford Health, as well as other regional, national and international institutions in pursuit of improving patient care. #meded #clined #hcsim #healthcaresimulation #simulation #healthcare #patientoutcomes
