Amazon has outlined the requirements for its upcoming Low-Cost Store. It will sell unbranded low-priced items from its warehouses in China directly to shoppers in the U.S. According to the latest documentation provided to sellers, Amazon’s Low-Cost Store, the official name for the marketplace, will operate as follows: - Invite-Only Program: Eligibility based on program criteria and capacity. - Fulfillment: Orders fulfilled by Amazon from inventory in Dongguan, Guangdong, China. Seller fulfillment not available. - Seller Eligibility: Unclear if limited to Chinese sellers or open to U.S. sellers manufacturing in China. - Product Listing: All products must be listed under the brand name "Generic." - Separate Storefront: Products accessed via a separate storefront in the Amazon app, not the regular search. - Product Restrictions: Must be under 1 lb and within 14 x 8 x 5 inches. - No batteries, ingestibles, topical items, or products needing cross-border compliance. - Pricing Limitations: Maximum eligible prices set by product type (e.g., $14 shorts, $10 necklaces). Listings exceeding these will be deactivated. - Listing Tools: Only the spreadsheet upload tool is supported; no use of the List Your Products tool or APIs. - Fulfillment Fees: Start at $0.50 for sub-4 oz, sub-$3 products, increasing with weight/price.
