We recently celebrated the 75th Anniversary of the Dutch Society of Human Genetics at the NVHG 2024 Conference in Amsterdam. The speakers shared an incredible historical perspective on the advances that have unlocked the mystery of the genome, from the discovery of the FMR1 gene in the late 80s to the development of "telomere to telomere" sequencing using long read technology. Kudos to the organizers for putting on a beautiful conference in Amsterdam #NVHGConference2024 #KuraBiotech #BlikkaGenomics

🌍 At Kura Biotech we work very hard to walk the talk on everything we do. As part of our commitment through Fundación Liquen to leave the world better than we found it, we've completely ditched short-lived conference swag. 🎉 But this isn't about cutting costs. Instead of handing out yet another stress ball, for every person who visits our booth, we plant a tree in their name. 🌳 And to make things even better, we’re raffling off Patagonia jackets (so proud to partner with them!) to all those who join us in planting trees.🌲🧥 The catch? You just need to become a Kura Fan... but really, who wouldn't want to? 😉 P.S. If this initiative resonates with you, we’d love to share all the details and welcome you to the cause: “SWAP SHORT-LIVED SWAG FOR A LASTING IMPACT”

🌍 Our annual 2023 Impact Report is now available! Today, August 1st, marks #EarthOvershootDay 2024, a reminder that humanity's demand for natural resources exceeds what our planet can sustainably regenerate. In Chile, this critical date fell on May 23rd, an evident indication of the environmental challenges we face. At Kura Biotech, we are driven by action and purpose. Our 2023 #Impact Report, highlights our ongoing efforts to create biotech products better and differently, to be a force of good to the world. Highlights of the report: 🌿 Environmental Stewardship: We continued to push towards our ambitious goal of being carbon-negative by conserving and restoring ecosystems. 👥 Community Support: Through the Liquen Foundation, we supported projects that improve the lives of vulnerable children and communities in Chile. 🌟 Human-Centered Culture: We focused on the growth and well-being of our team, recognizing that our people are the heartbeat of our success. As Earth Overshoot Day arrives earlier each year, it's clear that we must go beyond sustainability, we must regenerate and give back to our planet and communities. Today we had our first Open Family Day! ❤️ We welcomed the children of our #Kurians into the lab for a day full of exciting experiments and a fun lunch together. The kids had a blast learning about our applied sciences, getting to know pH through hands-on activities, creating "slime," observing microscopic life, and visualizing sound with Chladni plates. Seeing their curiosity and enthusiasm as they engaged in these activities was wonderful. A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this day a success. We’re proud to foster a family-friendly environment and inspire the next generation of scientists! 🔬 #KuraBiotech #OpenFamilyDay #Biotech #ScienceForKids #FutureScientists
