Hot diggity dog! Despite the hot weather, our furry friends from PAWS for People stayed cool as they visited our caregivers at the PAWS to De-Stress event, hosted by the ChristianaCare Center for WorkLife Wellbeing for WorkLife Wellbeing at our Christiana Hospital campus in Newark, DE. There were lots of kisses and snuggles to go around today! Our caregivers always look forward to the visits from the PAWS therapy dogs, as it gives them the opportunity to de-stress and decompress through animal therapy. #netde #therapydog #PetTherapy #LoveOfHealth

This week, our ChristianaCare Center for WorkLife Wellbeing and medical resident farmers rounded our Christiana Hospital resident lounges. They brought along their wellbeing wagon filled with fresh flowers, fruits, vegetables and herbs from our iLEAD Discovery Garden. The garden is open to all caregivers as a place for bonding, community, rejuvenation and education. Our resident wellbeing elective currently has three resident physicians working in the garden, and participating in activities with the Food Bank and shadowing our community health educators. Residents from six different residency programs are eligible for the one or two-week elective. So far, they have distributed over 1,200 pounds of produce this season! The resident farmers, iLEAD and ChristianaCare Center for WorkLife Wellbeing caregivers concluded their rounds by giving a tour of the Discovery Garden to ChristianaCare President and CEO, Janice E. Nevin MD MPH, and ChristianaCare Chief Clinical Officer, Dr. Neil Jasani. They showed all the hard work and care put into the garden. A fitting motto for our Discovery Garden comes from the famous words of Hippocrates, "Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food." #residency #LoveOfHealth #foodismedicine #gardening #healthcare

So grateful to #div38, Mark Vogel, and Amy Williams, PhD, LP for their support in organizing this meaningful symposium at #APA2024, Helping “The Helpers”: Job Crafting for Psychologists in Healthcare Organizations. My colleagues, Jaimes McNeal, PhD and Jennifer Ferrand, and I got to introduce the concept and benefits of job crafting for psychologists, demonstrate how to do job crafting step-by-step, and discuss how job crafting fits within the context of organizational processes.

We are thrilled to see the iLEAD Discovery Garden come to life!
Celebrating the Launch of the iLEAD Discovery Garden! We are excited to unveil the iLEAD Discovery Garden, an innovative addition to our Newark campus. A Food is Medicine Workshop on 5/22 marked the kick-off with over 60 caregivers attending the lunchtime open house. We envision the iLEAD Discovery Garden as a vibrant hub for connection, restoration, and ongoing education for caregivers. Highlights of the event included: 🍃 An inspiring and educational culinary medicine talk by Dr. Katelyn Fritzges 🍃 Hands-on activities where caregivers planted bean and sunflower seeds 🍃 Tasting pumpkin seed pesto, made from herbs from the garden 🍃 Learning about connecting patients to vital nutrition resources Thank you to everyone throughout the health system who participated and helped bring this vision to life. This would not have been possible without the collaboration with Greener Partners and our iLEAD colleagues, especially Dr. Tabassum Salam. A special thanks to Dr. Mark Mason, Denise Taylor, and Sean Day, who spearheaded this initiative.

Our Resident Wellbeing Specialist, Dr. Mark D Mason recently shared with ACGME the inspiration for this project including the appetite from residents to discuss the intricacies of nutrition and wellbeing.
Now on the #ACGME Blog! Read the first post in our annual post-conference series "Behind the Poster" - an interview with Mark Mason, PhD, CGP of ChristianaCare about his team's poster, "Adapting Well-Being Rounds to Residents Hungry to Learn More about Nutrition," which was shared at #ACGME2024 earlier this month. #MeaningInMedicine #MedEd https://lnkd.in/gqFCQkiv
