Diageo Ireland was proud to sponsor the recent Liberties Festival 2024. There were 45 events to choose from throughout the week, from sporting and community events, to exciting multi-cultural and arts programmes - the vibrant energy of Dublin 8 and the surrounding areas really came alive! At St James's Gate we were delighted to host a number of events as part of the festival, including Sunrise yoga sessions at the Gravity Bar; a Paint by the Pints Night in the Open Gate brewery; a 4-mile fun run through the Liberties in aid of St James’s Hospital Foundation, and not forgetting the iconic Blue Rinse Ball that was hosted at the Guinness Storehouse. Local initiatives like this bring to life the culture and heritage of The Liberties and we’re glad to be investing in that culture as a sponsor this year, highlighting our continuing commitment to the local area here in Dublin 8. #LibertiesFestival #Dublin8 #Community #SICCDA

The heritage and honour that the Diageo Baileys Champion Cow Competition carries, was on full display at the Virginia Agricultural Show in Co. Cavan last week. Dairy farming entrants from across the country ascended on Virginia, Co. Cavan to take part in the prestigious competition, that first took place back in 1983. As sponsors of this competition, which is one of the longest running pedigree dairy livestock competitions within the Irish circuit, we see firsthand the passion and dedication that goes into Irish farming. Alongside our partners, Tirlán we are glad to be able to acknowledge the important role so many Irish farmers play in making the world’s most loved liquor, Baileys Original Irish Cream. Check out our video below from the day, highlighting the attendance of Taoiseach Simon Harris who wished all entrants well, as well as Minister Heather Humphreys who presented the trophy on the day to the overall competition winners, Padraic and Brendan Greenan from Co. Monaghan. Congratulations to the worthy winners of 2024! #DiageoBaileysChampionCow #Baileys #Tirlán #VirginiaShow #DairyFarming

At Diageo Ireland, we are proud to have been part of the Dublin 8 community for over 250 years. Giving back to the community within which we operate has always been a cornerstone of our business and we’re glad to be continuing that legacy to this day.   In keeping with that legacy, we are delighted to be offering free access to the swimming pool at St. James’s Gate Health and Fitness Club on Watling Street, to more than 600 children from the Dublin 8 community during the summer months of July and August!  We have been working closely with our local community partners South Inner City Community Development Association (SICCDA) and South West Inner City Network (SWICN), who have kindly been disseminating the free passes, including 200 free membership passes for one adult and two children to use at the pool during the summer months, as well as access to the pool for community group summer camps, with qualified lifeguards on hand for their sessions.   We understand the importance of swimming for health, well-being, and enjoyment, especially for children and young people, and we are committed to making the swimming pool more accessible to local families, through these important local partnerships.  We hope this will encourage more families and friend groups to spend quality time together, and to enjoy the benefits of swimming as a leisure activity!   Pictured below at St. James’s Gate Health and Fitness Club Swimming Pool to present the passes were (L-R) Liz Duffy from South Inner City Community Development Association (SICCDA), Katie Lyons from South West Inner City Network (SWICN) and JILL MCCANN, Community Engagement Manager, Diageo Ireland.   #SummerSwimming #DiageoIreland #StJames’sGate #Community

We were excited to recently launch the 2024 Diageo Baileys Champion Cow Competition, which will take place at the Virginia Show in Co. Cavan on 21st August 2024!     At the Baileys offices in Dublin earlier this month, Diageo Ireland's Corporate Relations Director, Shane Kelly, Tirlán's Chief Ingredients Officer, Aoife Murphy and Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Charlie McConalogue T.D., came together to officially launch this renowned competition, that garners applicants from all corners of Ireland.     The Diageo Baileys Champion Cow Competition is an annual spotlight on dairy farmers and the hard work and dedication they put into the breeding excellence of their herds - it’s also an acknowledgement on a national scale, of the ongoing innovation put into farming by families across the country.     As a certified B-Corp, Baileys is driven by innovation, like our recent trial of more sustainable packaging methods, we’re dedicated to evolving, while also protecting the history and quality we’re known for.     Speaking at the launch, Minister Charlie McConalogue T.D., congratulated Diageo and Tirlán on a long-standing supply-chain relationship, centered on Baileys ‘hero’ raw ingredient, Irish dairy cream.    Minister McConalogue said, “I am delighted to formally launch the Diageo Baileys Cow Competition for 2024. I want to thank Diageo and Tirlán for continuing to promote and celebrate the grass-fed dairy sector in this manner for half a century and wish all participants the very best ahead of the final judging at the Virginia Show in August.’’    To mark the occasion, we welcomed dairy cow, Red Rose to the Baileys offices to officially launch this esteemed competition - check out the below video from the day!    #DairyFarming #Baileys #Tirlán #ChampionCowCompetition #VirginiaShow2024
