🚧 DROIDS CEDR Workshop #2 Highlights - June 2024 🚧 We successfully hosted the second DROIDS workshop in June, focusing on digital representation use cases from the perspective of National Road Authorities #NRA. The workshop was split into two insightful sessions: 1️⃣ Vienna, June 12 - Hosted by the CEDR #CAD Working Group, joined by members of the Traffic Management Working Group. 2️⃣ Ghent, June 18 - Organized by the CEDR Data Call PEB. More than 20 experts participated, sharing valuable insights on automated driving, traffic management, and infrastructure planning. Discussions centered on prioritizing key use cases for digital models, shadows, and twins, and exploring the likelihood of deployment by 2030. Key outcomes included: Renaming use cases like “Surface Condition Monitoring” to “Pavement Surface Condition Monitoring” A new incident detection use case, previously part of incident management The realization that most member states will likely implement digital shadows (infrastructure to model updates) for various use cases by 2030. The workshop also delved into the stakeholder roles in the lifecycle of digital representations, emphasizing the complexity of overlapping roles within NRAs, cities, and vehicle manufacturers. At the beginning of this week, I had the honor as chairman of the Program Executive Board of the Conference of European Directors of Roads (CEDR) DATA call, to bring together all 3 projects and consortium partners for a first status update and to organize a workshop with international experts. Thank you for your participation and knowledge sharing. 👍 I would like to introduce the projects to you: 👉 PRESORT - ImPRoving thE uSe Of third-paRTy data by NRAs 👉 DROIDS - Digital Road Operator Information and Data Strategy: Maintaining and sharing the digital road infrastructure, Digital Twin research and Digital Road Manager implementation. 👉 TIARA - Trusted Integrity and Authenticity for Road Applications: Integrity, Authenticity and Non-Repudiation (e.g. proof of the origin, authenticity and integrity of data) integrated in Trust Models for C-ITS applications.
