Since 2019, the DuPont Logistics team in Newark, Delaware, has supported the Food Bank of Delaware with their L.O.G.I.C. program for workforce development. L.O.G.I.C. stands for Logistics, Operations, General Warehousing, and Inventory Control. Recently, the newest class of L.O.G.I.C. students visited our Newark warehouse and shipping/receiving facility for an educational tour. Our operators demonstrated work processes and equipment, bringing the students’ classroom experience to life. L.O.G.I.C. is a 14-week free training program, certified as a trade school by the Delaware Department of Education, that prepares students for careers in the warehousing and logistics industry. Students can earn up to four certifications giving them the ability to expand employment opportunities. “DuPont is committed to empowering communities to thrive. At DuPont, we prioritize water management by implementing comprehensive water strategies in high-risk watersheds and high-consumption sites. At our Cheonan site in Korea, one manufacturing area accounts for the majority of the site's wastewater, which has recently increased due to amplified production and product diversification. To address this, our manufacturing team aimed to reduce wastewater from tank cleaning, a significant source of wastewater generation. By optimizing cleaning processes for one tank, we eliminated 249 tons of wastewater from April to November 2023, resulting in an average monthly reduction of around 20% in site's wastewater generation. Currently, we are actively working to achieve additional reductions by implementing new cleaning specifications and separating waste tanks, which would also help make wastewater treatment more cost-effective. Congratulations to Conner Hoelzel for being named to SEMICON West’s 20 Under 30 Award. At DuPont, Conner has been a key member of a team working on the development of photoresists for extreme ultraviolet lithography (EUV), a key growth area in electronic materials. EUV is critical for the continued advancement of the semiconductor industry as it enables smaller feature sizes to be achieved. Conner spearheads the design and synthesis of photoacid generators (PAGs), the critical small molecule component that influences photoresist performance. He is deeply committed to excellence through all aspects of his career including safety, ethics, sustainability, scientific methodology and first principles thinking. There will be a ceremony at SEMICON West on Tuesday, July 9 at 2:15 pm at the CEO Summit Stage to honor the recipients of the 20 Under 30 Award.
