The Aspen Institute's Energy & Environment Program addresses critical energy, environmental, & climate change issues.
About us
The Energy and Environment Program (EEP) addresses critical energy, environmental, and climate change issues through non-partisan, non-ideological convening, with the specific intent of bringing together diverse stakeholders to improve the process and progress of policy-level dialogue. This enables EEP to sit at a critical intersection in the conversation and bring together diverse groups of expert stakeholders. In addition to energy and environmental policy, which the program has been addressing for several decades, EEP is now actively and purposefully engaging in climate change policy – mitigating the effects of climate change, adapting to the inevitable impacts of climate change, and helping to build relationships for cooperation needed to achieve these goals amongst people and nations.

Catherine (Kitty) Pollack and Greg Gershuny wrote this week's "Science at the Ballot Box" article in Nautilus Magazine -- give it a read 💡. They highlighted the necessity of forward-thinking in climate policy, stressing that too often, solutions are designed based on current realities rather than envisioning a future aligned with our highest aspirations. #ScienceAtTheBallotBox #ClimatePolicy #ScienceCommunication Aspen Institute Science & Society Program

Tackling climate change requires forward-thinking solutions. Instead of prolonging inefficient technologies, we need visionary leadership to prioritize clean energy and sustainable innovations. Bipartisan collaboration will be key to creating policies that meet the unprecedented environmental challenges we face. Now is the time for bold action. Last week I had the amazing opportunity to moderate a panel with subject matter experts Josh Lasky of The George Washington University and Greg Gershuny of The Aspen Institute in our Nations Capital. The discussion covered balancing risks and opportunities and best practices to help accelerate others’ learnings. Thank you to our panelists for sharing their voice and their Sustainability journey with our clients and partners. Thank you to the Washington DC Local Market team and Halcyon house for co- hosting this amazing event. Special thanks to the Bank of America Healthcare Education and Not For Profit team for consistently pulling together thoughtful and engaging client events on this very important topic. Jean Bell Yolonda Stradford you are both amazing leaders! To Kyle J. Moore as always, it was an absolute pleasure working with you to bring this to life! I had an extraordinary experience at NYC Climate Week last week. It was heartening to reconnect with so many remarkable young climate leaders with whom I’ve had the privilege to work with over the years. As I participated in a series of workshops, plenaries, roundtable discussions, and art activations—many of which were led by these inspiring individuals—I was struck by a profound shift: the tables have turned in the best way possible. Normally, I am the one organizing events to help these young leaders learn, grow, and network with their peers and experienced professionals. Now, I find myself attending their events, eager to learn, grow, and connect alongside them. This is the dream for anyone working in the youth space—to transition from leading exceptional young people to being led by them. I am incredibly proud of these young leaders and can’t wait to see the remarkable changes they will bring to our world. We have so much to learn from one another, and intergenerational collaboration and conversation are key to retaining wisdom while ushering in innovation and new ideas. Young people have embraced this concept, and I hope everyone else will too. I am so lucky to get to do this work. 🥰 Steffanie Munguía Bodhi Patil Jonathan Gilmour Pooja Tilvawala Nick McGirl Carissa Cabrera Sophia Powless Luke Norris Aspen Ideas The Aspen Institute The Aspen Institute Energy & Environment Program (EEP) ChangemakerXchange Youth Climate Collaborative #ClimateWeekNYC
