Helping hard-charging entrepreneurs get a grip on their business

My cup is not only full, it is positively overflowing! Our EPI Southeast Michigan Chapter Annual Business Owner forum yesterday was a resounding success! We'll post more, but I wanted to quickly share shoutouts to all our fabulous contributors! * Scott Snider from Exit Planning Institute for an engaging keynote presentation * Craig Doescher and Prem Mukherjee for an entertaining and informative Fireside Chat sharing exited owner experience with Q&A * Joe Mackey and Dan Nickodemus for joining me on the Third Act Panel -- love that we were able to talk about impact owners can make both now AND in their third act * Ed McClellan, CFP®, AAMS®,CEPA® our title sponsor with Edward Jones --thank you for your incredibly humbling intro to the panel * Ryan Scheidemantel for bringing his comedic talents to our TED-style 5x5x5 including Chris Sheeren, Renee Hof Lacey, Private Wealth Advisor CRPC® CWS® CEPA®, Sarah Greifenberger, David Hamilton and Tim Jamison * Greg Merrill, CEPA, CFP®, our expert Master of Ceremonies And a deeply heart-felt thank you to Joe Mackey for a surprise invitation to share the crazy adventure I'm about to embark on. By popular demand, here's the scoop. As part of the EOS Worldwide work I'm doing with teams in South Africa, I made one of those Kolbe Corp "Quick Start" agreements to join a couple of my leadership team members on a bike race called The Munga. I learned later it's billed as the "Toughest Race on Earth", and that I'd pretty much need to start from scratch on gear. For example, my cute little Ironman triathlon bike isn't equipped to handle the corrugated jeep tracks and gravel roads I'll be riding for ~120 miles (194km) on my first leg of our teams 1,124 km journey through the South African desert, in the middle of their summer. Full suspension mountain bikes aren't equipped to carry 3.5+ liters of water between water points, so my free time is spent either riding or solving things like how to carry enough water (3L backpack & a collapsible filtered water bottle for emergency refills at cattle troughs for starters), and making sure I have enough light/battery power to ride through the night, etc. As I listen to grown men encouraging each other in the group chat that it's ok to stop and have a good cry, I have moments of doubt about my decision. 😂 But never any break in my resolve to ride for the 108 kids at Andre Brandmuller's Middelburg Care Village and raise the funds they need for the education they deserve, and the safe transportation to get to school, many of them at Muzi Khumalo's Saint Peter Christian College--two of the brave men riding with me--they've survived it before, and have coached me well! We'd like to raise at least $50,000. We started out to raise funds for tuition, but now need new buses, too--the need has grown since we began fundraising. So if we raise $100,000, I promise not to wrestle for a solo ticket and do the whole thing. 😉 Donate here: https://lnkd.in/gCE_8v6S

Shoutout to Ted Bradshaw for hitting an incredible milestone – 1,000 sessions! That's over 1,000 days of guiding teams, solving issues, and probably explaining "IDS" at least 10,000 times. 😉 Here's to the countless ah-ha moments, breakthroughs, and maybe a few squirrely tangents along the way. 🐿️ Your dedication to helping businesses get what they want is nothing short of inspiring. Here's to the next 1,000! 🎉

↳ Expert EOS Implementer • Keynote Speaker • Leadership Trainer • Business Coach ➤ I help business owners get what they want from their business by implementing the Entrepreneurial Operating System.

Being an Expert EOS Implementer has been one of the greatest experiences of my life. There are so many things that I love: Serving amazing leaders and entrepreneurs, watching them overcome their challenges, breaking through ceilings, increasing profit, tripling in size, learning how to have hard conversations, praying with leaders, serving leaders, celebrating progress, JUST BEING IN THE FREAKING ROOM with amazing people is such an honor. I love reflecting back on the journey so far. It's fun to celebrate, but it's even more fun to pull value from observing these 1,000 sessions thinking about all the momentum being created. I'm deeply convicted to take my learning and apply it going forward. Here are my top three takeaways from this journey: 1. Discipline is the difference-maker. The most successful teams commit to EOS disciplines consistently, creating real impact and results. 2. Truth equals freedom. Teams that actively pursue and face the truth build momentum and solve issues faster. 3. Passion is essential. Growing a business is hard; passion is the fuel that keeps teams pushing forward uphill. Watch the video for a deeper dive into the top 3 lessons. EOS Worldwide

A survivor of punishing environments, sub-zero temperatures, hurricane-force winds, sudden avalanches...and a career on Wall Street. Drawing on her experience as team captain of the first American Women's Everest Expedition, we're thrilled to introduce Alison Levine as a keynote speaker at the 2025 EOS Conference! 💪 Alison Levine has climbed the highest peak on every continent, skied across the Arctic Circle, and followed a remote route across west Antarctica to the South Pole. She also spent four years as an adjunct professor at West Point and now serves on the board and faculty of the Thayer Leader Development Group there. Levine's leadership and humanitarian efforts have been featured in documentaries, inspiring keynote speeches, and her New York Times best-seller, "On the Edge." Ok, so maybe you won't actually be scaling a mountain at the conference. But you might scale a figurative mountain as you get unstuck and scale your business. In fact, Alison makes a compelling case that the leadership principles that apply in the world of extreme adventure also apply to today's rigorously competitive business environments. She's ready to help you climb THAT mountain. ⛰️ Are you up for the challenge? 👉 www.eosconference.com

🏃♂️ Running fast was my superpower – until it wasn’t. Turns out, there’s a dark side to moving fast. I’ve spent my whole life running. Fast. Sometimes too fast. According to my mom, I skipped walking and went straight to running at 🍼 12 months old. When I was a teenager, I remember walking down a street on the way to my cousins. 🚶♂️ It was too slow, so I decided to run. I haven’t slowed down much since. 🏎️💨 As an entrepreneur, I’ve always moved pretty quickly. Let’s just say I’ve got a high energy threshold⚡. I can be an energizer bunny 🐇, never running out of gas. People around me are exhausted 😮💨 … and I’m ready to keep going. But I’ve lost good people 😔 because I refused to ease off the gas pedal. I’ve had to learn to slow down 🛑. For my teammates but, more importantly, for me, my family, and my friends. How can I be the best version of myself if I’m SPRINTING ALL THE TIME?! 🥵 Just as a great sprinter 🏅 takes proper time to recover between runs, a great leader takes time to regenerate too... …and coaches teammates to do the same. ✨ Stop... breathe... reflect... ✨ 🌸 Smell the proverbial flowers... Be with your thoughts, your family, yourself. What did you learn from the last sprint that can make the next run even better? 💡 Think about how to apply those learnings 🧠, bake them into your training plan. Then, when it’s time to go, let’s drop the hammer and get after it! 🔨🔥 Full on, baby!!! Embrace that pent-up energy 💥 and the lessons learned in an even better version of yourself. Release the beast! 🦁 But after that run is complete, let’s stop again (before burnout hits). 🛑 Slow down, reflect, and regenerate. 🌱 I’ve learned proper recovery is just as important as the time under pressure. 🏋️♂️ On the track, in business, and in life. Always be Relentless and Fun. ❤️ Love, Chris (Written while on a scheduled regenerative break 🏔️, preparing for my next business sprint) 📷 Chris Jones - Canadian Masters Championships 2013

Jodi Owczarski, IOM, President and CEO of the Michigan West Coast Chamber of Commerce, created Community Impact Day, a day for West Michigan residents to volunteer en masse at various community locations. Since its launch in 2022, this day of action has exploded in impact! From 250 local volunteers in 2022 to 984 in 2023, Community Impact Day is now aiming for 1,500 volunteers in 2024. 🙌 Volunteers come together for just 24 hours to make a big difference—from organizing blood drives to cleaning up natural spaces, all dedicated to helping the community thrive. Why? Because running on EOS helped them realize they could do something extraordinary.
