🏃♂️ Running fast was my superpower – until it wasn’t. Turns out, there’s a dark side to moving fast.
I’ve spent my whole life running. Fast. Sometimes too fast.
According to my mom, I skipped walking and went straight to running at 🍼 12 months old.
When I was a teenager, I remember walking down a street on the way to my cousins.
🚶♂️ It was too slow, so I decided to run.
I haven’t slowed down much since. 🏎️💨
As an entrepreneur, I’ve always moved pretty quickly.
Let’s just say I’ve got a high energy threshold⚡.
I can be an energizer bunny 🐇, never running out of gas.
People around me are exhausted 😮💨 … and I’m ready to keep going.
But I’ve lost good people 😔 because I refused to ease off the gas pedal.
I’ve had to learn to slow down 🛑.
For my teammates but, more importantly, for me, my family, and my friends.
How can I be the best version of myself if I’m SPRINTING ALL THE TIME?! 🥵
Just as a great sprinter 🏅 takes proper time to recover between runs, a great leader takes time to regenerate too...
…and coaches teammates to do the same.
✨ Stop... breathe... reflect... ✨
🌸 Smell the proverbial flowers...
Be with your thoughts, your family, yourself.
What did you learn from the last sprint that can make the next run even better? 💡
Think about how to apply those learnings 🧠, bake them into your training plan.
Then, when it’s time to go, let’s drop the hammer and get after it! 🔨🔥
Full on, baby!!!
Embrace that pent-up energy 💥 and the lessons learned in an even better version of yourself.
Release the beast! 🦁
But after that run is complete, let’s stop again (before burnout hits). 🛑
Slow down, reflect, and regenerate. 🌱
I’ve learned proper recovery is just as important as the time under pressure. 🏋️♂️
On the track, in business, and in life.
Always be Relentless and Fun.
❤️ Love, Chris
