  • Please support Region A.H.E.A.D. During the COVID pandemic, a number of regional organizations partnered to bring hope to small businesses, helping distribute over $250,000 in grants! These same folks regrouped this past weekend after the devastating 500-year flood that struck our region. In response, Region A.H.E.A.D. has raised over $160K in pledges to provide recovery grants for small businesses across Tennessee and Virginia. Join us in supporting Region A.H.E.A.D in making a difference. If you would like to contribute to the recovery efforts, visit RegionAhead.com.

Collaborating with individuals and organizations to tell their own stories, and helping them create media to educate, advocate, build community & leaders, transform & heal.

I have a beloved, adopted community in the Appalachian Highlands of the eastern United States- eastern Tennessee, western North Carolina, and southwestern Virginia. I have some long-held, treasured friends there, favorite and sacred places, and many new colleagues and friends at the ETSU Research Corporation, new friends, partners, and clients from the past few years from meaningful storytelling projects- nurses, survivors of breast and ovarian cancer, ETSU students, new moms, middle school girls. All of them... precious to me. Hurricane Helene wreaked havoc across the southeastern US destroying many people's lives and livelihoods. And it's one in thousands of catastrophes- caused by nature and/ or humans-happening around the world. But today, and in all the days of slow and painful recovery to come - I want to send my love to all my people at East Tennessee State University, Ballad Health, Partnership for Appalachian Girls' Education (PAGE), STREAMWORKS, Niswonger Foundation, Plan A Films, and many others- too many to tag here. The heroic stories...strength of community... and neighbor helping neighbor and strangers alike- have reached me all the way across the ocean. And I'm not one bit surprised. That's who you are- and it's one of the many reasons I love you. ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

  • Small businesses are critical to our local economy yet are disproportionately impacted by disaster. Our friends at Region AHEAD are helping with critical small business flood recovery relief. • Our thoughts are with all those affected by the devastating impacts of Hurricane Helene. The ETSU Research Corporation stands in full support of the East Tennessee State University community and the broader region as recovery efforts begin. Let’s continue to support one another during these challenging times.

Our campus community is heartbroken by the devastation wrought by Hurricane Helene. Our first priority is to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our students, faculty, staff, friends, and neighbors. As the emergency situation facing our area continues to unfold, we are encouraging everyone on our campus to offer maximum flexibility and work together during this difficult time. Students who are unable to attend class or need to miss class to support loved ones will be given allowances to make up work at a later date. Faculty members have been asked to adjust deadlines to allow students to focus on recovery efforts over the next few days, and any course work deadlines for this weekend are suspended. As much as possible, we will attempt to keep campus operating as usual, knowing that many students, employees, and community members will be in need of the services and support ETSU provides. We recognize many in our community are struggling and we will do whatever we can to offer support during this time. The ETSU Response page - etsu.edu/response - will serve as a single source of information for students, faculty, and staff to find resources. Please stay safe and take care of one another.

Ever wonder what it takes to break into the U.S. market? Let me share the incredible journey of Hebmüller Aerospace and how they've grown since making that leap. In 2017, Hebmüller partnered with the ETSU Research Corporation's Innovation Lab. Fast forward to today, and their client base in the United States has skyrocketed. Their success didn't happen by chance—it’s the result of strategic moves and partnerships. The company's CEO, Axel Hebmüller, has collaborated with us to create the Soft Landings program, encouraging other German companies to expand into the region. It’s become a valuable network where Germans can share their experiences and support each other in making the move to the U.S. #Network #GlobalExpansion #MarketEntry
