ICYMI, last week at GBTA Convention 2024, we unveiled the 16th annual 2024 GBTA Business Travel Index Outlook – Annual Global Report and Forecast (“GBTA BTI™”) and provided a deep dive into current business travel spending, viewpoints and forecasts through 2028. Also included is data and analysis from 4,100 business travelers across five global regions representing insights from employee travelers regarding their business travel preferences, behaviors and spending, including: ✴️ Global spending is expected to reach a record $1.48 trillion USD by the end of 2024. ✴️Boosted by economic stability, pent-up demand and recovery momentum, spending is projected to surpass $2 trillion by 2028. ✴️64% of business travelers surveyed report increased spending compared to 2023. ✴️Business travelers estimate their spending averaged $834 per person based on their last business trip. ✴️81% report that business travel is worthwhile in achieving their objectives. GBTA Convention 2024 was epic. ✴️ 5,400 registered attendees came together to change the business travel industry. ✴️ 5 pavilions brought diverse perspectives together on the Expo Floor. ✴️ Over 80 educations sessions brought the world together. ✴️ 3 Keynote speakers amazed, inspired, and ignited participants in live discussions. ✴️ AI sang about how awesome of a time you could have at GBTA And it may have just been the most amazing event in the business travel world this year.
