International Coalition Against Illicit Economies (ICAIE) / ICAIE Labs congratulates all of the 6 Team Finalists in the 2023 "Bring Down Counterfeiting" Hackathon, held today at George Mason University in Arlington, VA: Team Legitma Team CyberCrustaceans Team Tech Titans Team Veracity Protocol Team 3P2L Team X Scan All winners! in my professional estimation. You can learn more about which team won the Grand Prize and other prizes awarded at this year's 2023 Hackathon at: https://lnkd.in/e795iRRV In recent years, Terrorism, Transnational Crime, and Corruption Center (TraCCC) and the Anti-Illicit Trade Institute (AITI), Terrorism, Transnational Crime and Corruption Center (TraCCC), George Mason University - Schar School of Policy and Government have partnered with private sector and US government organizations to crowdsource novel proposals aimed at disrupting trade in counterfeit goods. This year's submissions were practical, implementable, scalable, and demonstrable (i.e., using real-world data). Winning submissions must have direct applicability to stated challenges that the USPTO, U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and other U.S. governmental agencies are actively working to overcome. The Bring Down Counterfeiting 2023 Hackathon asked all participants to prototype solutions that enable more effective public-private partnerships to facilitate or enhance data sharing and operational cooperation among the private sector and U.S. governmental agencies in the fight against counterfeit goods. Challenge solvers were asked to help us develop strategies to identify and counter new and existing trends in #counterfeiting and piracy.
