Flashfood has released a newly revamped app, called Flashfood 3.0, that features new graphics and tools to make shopping easier for customers. The upgrade focuses primarily on the front-end shopper experience and offers a more fluid browsing system, easier searchability and smoother pickup communication, Flashfood’s Chief Operating Officer Jordan Schenck said in an interview. As Lidl US moves ahead with an ambitious effort to reboot its brand, the company aims to more closely align its pitch with what American shoppers expect while also retaining its heritage as a value-first retailer focused on simplicity and efficiency, according to CEO Joel Rampoldt. While the German grocery chain defines itself as “The Super-est Market” in its new branding campaign, which began Oct. 16, Lidl has no intention of developing larger stores or expanding its selection to compete with traditional supermarket operators. Instead, Lidl’s updated U.S. marketing strategy is centered around attracting more people to its stores by emphasizing that it offers the “freshest possible” produce, meat and baked goods alongside a “manageable amount” of center store choices, Rampoldt said. https://lnkd.in/eVnW7VDG

All eyes are on grocers as food prices remain stubbornly high and consumers continue to feel the effects of inflation despite its dampening. So, grocers have prioritized value messaging — whether through their private label lines, holiday promotions, foodservice offerings or in-store signage — as they look to demonstrate that they are committed to helping people save money on groceries. https://lnkd.in/etNMUEcR
