  • 💙 Why do people come back to IBM? For Monica, it was the mentorship and support that made all the difference. Monica first joined IBM when Turbonomic was acquired by the company. After leaving IBM in 2022 to explore new opportunities, she earned four AWS certifications 🏅 and helped launch the AWS Cloud Institute — an exciting chapter in her career. But in 2024, she made the decision to come back home ✨ to IBM. 💬 “A huge part of my decision to return was the mentorship and support I received from my manager at IBM. She encouraged me to explore and learn about cloud technologies and containers, which became pivotal in shaping my career.” Now back at IBM as a Content Developer, Monica is channeling her passion for IT operations, automation, and FinOps to create world-class enablement training for technical sellers. 🤩 💬 “Since returning, I’ve been inspired by the amazing team culture and collaborative atmosphere. It’s truly motivating to develop training content that empowers our teams and helps clients succeed.” 🎉 Welcome back, Monica! 📩 Interested in returning to IBM? • 💬 What is a special career highlight you remember from your time at IBM? 💫 Robert recalls one of IBM's largest presences at the 2019 Gartner Symposium in Barcelona, Spain, where he managed a team of 50+, overseeing multiple demo stations, booths, and sessions — capturing the scale and complexity of marketing at IBM. His marketing career at IBM started in 2017 as a Marketing Event Manager, where he discovered the power of big data, analytics, and innovation in driving impactful marketing strategies. "Each of these roles played a pivotal part in shaping my approach to marketing, setting a strong foundation in promoting cutting-edge technology for one of the world’s most iconic brands. In 2021, I left IBM to explore opportunities with smaller software companies, where I honed my skills in field and channel marketing, strategy, and positioning. One standout experience was managing marketing efforts in the Nordics for a leading backup software company, driving impactful tactics in a highly competitive market. In 2024, I returned to IBM in the Ecosystem Marketing team as a Global Solution Marketing Manager for IBM Power, and it felt like I was coming back home. It’s exciting to contribute to global, cutting-edge projects and continue growing in a familiar, dynamic environment." • IBM not only can be associated with chips, but also with ships. 🚢🌊 IBM has been helping explore the depths and vitality of our oceans for decades — in hope of healing both the planet and humanity. Over 70% of our planet is covered by water, but nearly 80% of it is still unexplored. Accelerating efforts to map the ocean’s conditions and life could greatly impact our world. Oceans play a key role in shaping weather and extreme events. In their deepest parts, unique life forms could offer insights into surviving harsh conditions and new ways to fight disease. IBM has been providing expertise and equipment to further such causes for decades. It has worked in conjunction with some of the world’s most accomplished explorers, contributed equipment and software to analyze harsh environments, and even embarked on an ambitious project to automate ocean research via a custom-built, self-driving seafaring vessel. 🌐 Dive deeper into IBM’s oceanic exploration initiatives: https://ibm.co/3PuINxR https://ibm.co/40sCfGk #IBMAlumni #IBMHistory #IBM

  • Do you remember the first steps of your career? The excitement and the uncertainty? Hannah does. She walked into IBM as an intern in the Data and AI division, ready to learn and explore. “I was just beginning to grasp the diverse opportunities within the field — especially at a company as dynamic as IBM,” she recalls. After her internship with IBM, Hannah sharpened her skills outside of IBM creating global nurture programs and personalized campaigns, while mastering analytics. With every role, she grew in confidence, strategy, and vision. But some places stay with you. 👁️🐝Ⓜ️ “The culture, the mission, and most importantly, the people — it always held a special place in my heart,” said Hannah about her experience at IBM. So when the chance to return came along, she didn’t think twice. Now, she’s back at IBM as a Field Marketing Specialist with Apptio, an IBM company. She travels across the country sharing stories of innovation and teamwork. Her role consists of planning and running regional events, creating marketing materials, and representing the company at trade shows and webinars. She works with sales teams to find opportunities, track results, and connect with customers to promote Apptio’s solutions. “This journey has been one of discovery, growth, and gratitude. From walking through the office doors on my first day back to rekindling connections with old colleagues, I feel incredibly fortunate to be here again, contributing to meaningful work with a company that inspires me.” For Hannah, the road has come full circle. And it’s only just beginning. 💙 Interested in rejoining IBM? Sign up for our Alumni Talent Network 👉 https://ibm.co/40EFSsV #IBM #CareerJourney #MarketingInnovation
