With the threat of new franchising regulations looming, the International Franchise Association is asking for IFA SUPPLIER MEMBERS to ensure the FTC receives an accurate picture of the current state of franchising! Responses are due October 10, 2024: https://lnkd.in/eft-tTj7 It's easy & should take 10 minutes max: ▶ Communicate the importance of the franchise model to your livelihood and ability to own a business. ▶ Explain your perspective on the threats to businesses within franchising like yours of new, one-size-fits-all regulation that does not account for the 300 different industries comprising the franchise model. ▶ Share how you collaborate and communicate with franchisors (for example, through franchise advisory councils and independent franchisee associations) to ensure the system evolves with the industry and market changes. Help us spread the world! Alex Porter, Daniel Mormino, MBA, CFE, CMHS®, Tom Portesy, Liane Caruso, CFE, Debra Vilchis, Jayson Pearl, CFE

💪 The Power of Being an Educated Supplier No matter how long you have been in the industry and no matter what type of services you provide, it’s critical for ANY and ALL suppliers to continually and thoroughly educate themselves about franchising. The most successful suppliers are those who are constantly reading franchise industry material, listening to podcasts, attending industry conferences, digging into resources offered by the International Franchise Association, becoming a Certified Franchising Executive (CFE) through the IFA, regularly networking with franchisors, franchisees and other suppliers, etc. In this clip from a recent interview with Ryan Hicks, CFE, co-host of the popular franchising podcast Modrn Business, SFAB Chair Tom Portesy and Paul Rocchio, CFE, IOM, VP of Development & Member Services touched on the importance of being an educated supplier. “The more you understand franchisors and franchisees, the better able you are to provide quality service,” Portesy said. Michelle Monroe Rowan, CFE Debra Vilchis Jayson Pearl, CFE Liane Caruso, CFE Emily George, CFE Abby Pierson Schmidt Marcia Mead Graham Chapman, CFE 🌟 Nominations for the SFAB Board are due tomorrow!
