  • Make Every Point Count Part of improving your company's sustainability profile is making sure that your company's processes are optimized with sustainability in mind. Your recycling program is an important part of that, and so is your recycling partner. What they do with what they collect can impact your sustainability profile, and increasingly that can have financial implications for your business. Then, there is the recycling material itself. Used cardboard is not waste; it has financial value. Many companies will pay generators, like department stores, chain retailers, appliance stores, groceries, hospitals, and schools for the privilege of hauling used cardboard away. That can turn your company's recycling program from a burden into a source of pride and revenue. We are always working to discover new opportunities that can have a positive impact at every point in the fiber value chain. Learn more about what we're doing to transform the landscape of recycling and sustainability, including our Vision 2030 goals, with our white paper on Sustainability In Motion®. SAFE ZONES: Compressed cardboard bales are dangerously heavy, weighing as much as a small car – up to 2,000 pounds each! Employees operating compacting and baling equipment need to exercise caution. If not moved and loaded safely, these 1-ton bales are prone to shifting and falling, which can cause serious injury or even death. Best practices for proper handling and loading are the focus of our all-new 4 1/2 -minute video (also available in Spanish). The step-by-step visual guide stresses trailer inspection and bale integrity while demonstrating safe trailer-loading patterns as well as what constitutes an "unsafe door load." With your help, we can ensure that loaded trailers become “safe zones” for all employees in the supply chain. Together, we can make zero-accident workplaces the highest priority because, in the workplace, a single accident is one too many! https://bit.ly/47S55Ax #IPRecycling #SustainabilityinMotion

  • Why Circularity Matters At International Paper, circularity is prioritizing the use of resources that are renewable, sustainably managed, recovered and reused, through design, production and recovery across the fiber value chain. Worldwide, we recover, reprocess, reuse or resell more than seven million tons of recovered fiber each year. We're also one of the top two consumers of recovered fiber in the world, reusing five million tons of recovered fiber every year in our own manufacturing processes. So why does that matter? Embracing the circular economy means looking throughout our value chain for opportunities to optimize and improve our operations. That means doing the best we can in our operations, and helping our customers derive maximum value from every point possible in their operations. It means more efficient use of materials, of course. But it also means improving processes, storage, and safety across our operations and theirs. Why? Because improving your sustainability profile is becoming an increasingly important part of doing business. For everybody. And International Paper wants to lead the way. We call it Sustainability in Motion®. If you want to learn more about circularity and why it's important, download our white paper and find out what International Paper is doing to make the most of what we have at every point in the fiber value chain. https://bit.ly/4bpk2wT
