📣 Episode 10 of CAPSITE's The Sectional Podcast is out now! 🎧 Mobile ID, Customer Connect System, CAV testing, and a pilot testing out Driver Alcohol Detection System for Safety (DADSS) technology are just some ways Chrissy Nizer and her team are modernizing the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA) 🚗🚘. But these systems don’t run on their own, customer service is at the core of everything the MVA does. Needless to say, we were humbled with the opportunity to speak with Administrator Nizer and hear about how the MVA puts people first in new, safe, and innovative ways. 🦺💭 📲 Search for “CAPSITE” or “The Sectional” on your favorite podcast service, or use this Speaker hosting site link: https://lnkd.in/eK7F4S_E 👆🏻 Don't forget to like and subscribe! 👍🏻✔ Please contact Producer David Duarte, PE, PTOE with any comments, questions, and suggestions. #ITE #transportation #CAPSITE #podcast #TheSectional

✨ ICYMI ✨ On Friday, September 13th, 2024, CAPSITE held a technical meeting at Loudoun County Government, featuring three excellent presentations from projects and initiatives across Loudoun County. Erin Steel, P.E. and Pulkit Parikh, PE, PTP (GOROVE SLADE) provided a comprehensive overview of the Traffic Signal Approval Process, overseen by VDOT and its evolution over the years. Their presentation covered recent successful cases studies in Loudoun County, including recent signal studies under the County’s Development Traffic Analysis program, as well as the Algonkian Parkway/Lowes Island Boulevard signalized intersection design improvements. Geoff Giffin and Colin Frosch, PE (VA, WV, DC, NC) (Kimley-Horn) presented the Route 50 Sequencing Study that forecasted future transportation conditions for the corridor and defined recommended future sequencing of roadway and interchange improvements within the study area based on forecasted traffic congestion, regional network connectivity, safety, and multimodal access. Geoff Giffin and Kavita Chapuri (Kimley Horn) presented the North Collector Road Feasibility Study, where Loudoun County explored the feasibility of adding a parallel east-west roadway connection north of Route 50 through the southern boundary of Dulles Airport to connect to the Air and Space Museum Parkway interchange with Route 28, which is part of the Countywide Transportation Plan (CTP). These presentations collectively showcased Loudoun County's commitment to improving transportation infrastructure, promoting active transportation, and ensuring a more inclusive and sustainable transportation network. 👏 With a great turnout, we would like to thank all our participants – attendees, presenters, and organizers - for taking part in this successful event. We are looking forward to the next Loudoun County technical meeting in 2025. #ITE #transportation #infrastructure #sustainability #inclusivity #safety
