Are you feeling it? As the clock ticks down, the world of business and issue-oriented efforts have entered a holding pattern awaiting the outcomes of election day. Certainly, trying to plan for what comes next isn’t easy with most pollster surveys indicating a dead heat. This newest Pew Research Center report casts doubt on the polling process overall and is a good read while we all await election outcomes in order to best tackle important legislative agendas for 2025 and beyond. #PRPlanning #PublicAffairs

And it's open! We recently worked with client Cullinan Properties, in support of Illinois Department of Transportation and the City of Joliet, to officially open the much-anticipated Interchange between I-55 and IL 59 in the south Chicago suburbs. The new interchange increases access and safety to the region, including Cullinan’s Rock Run Collection, a 310-acre mixed-use development. The celebration included Lt. Governor Juliana Stratton, Senator Richard Durbin and federal, state and local officials, construction partners and the Cullinan team.

Day 2 at #prsaicon is in the books- LCPR's Jessica Gallen, APR had the opportunity to hear from Crystal Washington, CSP, CPAE - one of Forbes' 50 Leading Futurists- who reminded PR practitioners that change is occurring at a never-before-seen rapid speed. Rather than fearing it, we should embrace change and retrain our brains to no longer see it as a threat. Other key takeaways emphasized that national TV still reigns supreme when it comes to establishing credibility and reaching a large audience. At the end of the day, visual storytelling, audience relevance and expertise continue to define what makes good TV.

#PRSAICON is in full swing – Jessica Gallen, APR attended the opening session featuring Good Morning America's Gio Benitez who shared key insights into his storytelling and talked about how to lean into mistakes and use lessons as future solutions. Other insights from yesterday's sessions highlighted the importance of courage and transparency in leadership to build trust and empower others, and dove into measurement best practices, as well as the role AI will play in future data and measurement. More to come from Anaheim!

Our very own Jessica Gallen, APR is attending this week’s Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) ICON Conference. Yesterday, she participated in the Leadership Assembly as a delegate for PRSA Chicago, voting on elected officers, directors and bylaws, and hearing from leaders on the organization’s future. Stay tuned this week as she shares insights and learnings from ICON sessions!

LCPR joined other MMAC Leadership Council members for a tour of one of Milwaukee’s newest additions to the skyline – The Couture. This long-anticipated 47-story building on Milwaukee’s lakefront features luxury apartments with floor to ceiling windows, a scenic outdoor pool and plenty of spaces to entertain. Retail development is planned at street level, which also offers a lakefront stop for Milwaukee’s trolley – The Hop. Yet another great addition to one of our office cities!

Whether you follow national or state politics, Wisconsin and other swing states continue to be top locations to visit. Last week, former President Trump in Juneau, this week President Biden in Milwaukee, while nearby incumbent Sen. Tammy Baldwin’s opponent Eric Hovde stopped by a MILWAUKEE PRESS CLUB and Rotary Club of Milwaukee event. Laughlin Constable Public Relations (LCPR) was there as local and national reporters heard panelists Charles Benson WTMJ Emilee Fannon WDJT and Matt Smith question Hovde on the future of issues involving social security, the national debt and immigration. #2024Election #PublicAffairs
