The Compliance Roadshow, a year-long training & awareness initiative launched by #Leonardo to strengthen the culture of compliance in all the operational realities of the Group, concluded last week. The path, divided into successive steps that involved the Corporate, the various business areas and the subsidiaries, highlighted how Leonardo considers ethics and compliance essential elements for doing business and creating value for all its stakeholders. The Compliance Roadshow kicked off on November 23, 2023, with the Corporate Compliance Workshop “Ethical Leadership: strategic lever for a successful business". As Lorenzo Mariani, Co-General Manager of Leonardo, pointed out, "Compliance is not an obstacle to business, but it is an obstacle to shortcuts", highlighting how the procedural system with which the company has equipped itself is solid, well-built, and resilient, and that the human factor is central in ensuring correct behavior in relationships with potential customers or commercial intermediaries and in protecting the company's reputation. The next step was five Divisional Workshops, which were held during 2024, in the various business areas of Leonardo, with the participation of the respective Managing Directors: Stefano Bortoli – Leonardo Aerostructures, Andrea Campora – Leonardo Cyber & Security, Gian Piero Cutillo – Leonardo Helicopters, Marco De Fazio – Leonardo Electronics, Marco Zoff – Leonardo Aircraft. The path concluded on November 26 with the Compliance Workshop Subsidiaries, which saw the participation of Leonardo’s Chairman Stefano Pontecorvo, Elena Napolitano, Chief Compliance Officer and Carlo Gualdaroni, Chief Commercial & Business Development Officer. In total, the Compliance Roadshow reached approximately 1,400 people in the Group, for approximately 3,000 hours of training overall: an invaluable opportunity to build an increasingly distinctive and shared culture of integrity and transparency, at all levels. https://lnkd.in/dZaMhw8y

✈️ From specialising in Materials Engineering to joining #LeonardoLabs, and now working as a Research & Development and IP Management Engineer at #Leonardo’s Aerostructures site in Grottaglie (Taranto, Italy). Today, in her role, Stefania Minosi contributes to the development of technological solutions aimed at reducing energy consumption and CO2 emissions. Among the projects she is most closely attached to is the research and development of the recycling of carbon fibres contained in polymer matrix composite materials used in the construction of aircraft parts, based on the pyrogasification process. Once collected, the waste is recycled with the aim of obtaining clean, performing carbon fibres. Thinking back on her own experience, Stefania underlines how one of the main added values of working at Leonardo is the network of people, companies and academic entities one is in contact with on a daily basis. #Leonardo's Board of Directors, convened today under the Chairmanship of Stefano Pontecorvo, examined and unanimously approved the 2024 first nine months results.   Roberto Cingolani, Leonardo CEO and GM, stated, “The economic-financial performance of the period, together with the development of the business and the strengthening of the financial indicators, plus the implementation of the existing efficiency programme, is all confirming the validity of the path undertaken in pursuing the objectives indicated in the Industrial Plan.   The consolidation and strengthening of our core defence business is proceeding in line with the objectives we have set thanks to the acceleration of the digitalisation process and the rationalisation of the portfolio. After the creation of the new Space Division, aimed at positioning in new business segments with higher added value, the sale of Underwater Armaments & Systems to Fincantieri, and the exit from non-core businesses such as Industria Italiana Autobus and Skydweller, Leonardo has finalised the acquisition, in the radar sector, of control of GEM Elettronica.   The path of international alliances has seen the establishment of the Joint Venture with Rheinmetall, which allows the company to play a key international role in the programmes of the new Main Battle Tank (MBT) and the new Lynx platform for the Armored Infantry Combat System (AICS) programme. This achievement, achieved in less than six months, demonstrates the strategic importance of moving with agility and determination in the international competitive scenario. We have defined, together with our customers and partners, the main elements of the GCAP programme which will become definitive with the formal signing of an industrial agreement by the end of the year. These elements provide strategic activities in the development of systems of systems for Leonardo.   The evaluation of growth and development opportunities in the cyber and space sector also continues,” concluded Roberto Cingolani.   https://lnkd.in/ewuDS8Ji #LDO_PR

In recent months, we have also achieved significant goals in strengthening international alliances by taking an active role in promoting European Defence. The agreement with Rheinmetall represents a unique opportunity for the development of the new generation of land defence systems," Roberto Cingolani, Leonardo CEO and GM, stated. "The consolidation of the core defence business continues thanks to the acceleration of the digitalisation process and the rationalisation of the portfolio with the sale of Underwater Armaments & Systems, which gives further impetus to the collaboration between Leonardo and Fincantieri, and the exit from non-core businesses such as IIA and Skydweller. The creation of the new Space Division positions Leonardo in rapidly growing market segments, while targeted acquisitions will strengthen the Cybersecurity business. The efficiency plan is fully operational, with results exceeding expectations.
