We love the Health EquiTREE! It's been so helpful for applicants and grantees alike. Grantees have used it to help describe their work, consider ways to move deeper into addressing the roots, and more.
This month, we're looking back at our favorite content from 2023. Today, we're revisiting the HRiA Health EquiTREE. And it's been given a bit of an upgrade--you're in for a TREEt! And several tree puns. 🌳 Many of our societal systems are SOILed with racism and damaging cultural norms. To upROOT these systems, we must first unpack the TRUNKs of our mental models. The Health EquiTREE is designed to help you BRANCH out in your thinking about what influences health outcomes. Confused? LEAF it to us! To get started with the Health EquiTREE, download a blank version at https://lnkd.in/eCWMvBCK Then, begin with the leaves. 🍁 When using the tree to explore a specific health outcome affecting a community, work backwards--starting with the leaves and moving down the tree to the roots. In this series of images, we share an example of how the process might look as you work your way through the exercise. For more guidance, revisit our blog post about the tree: https://lnkd.in/eRMtbdRz Has the EquiTREE 🌱 sprouted 🌱any ideas for your organization? Drop one below. 🌰 #mentalmodels #rootcauses #socialdeterminantsofhealth #SDOH #publichealth #healthequity #racialequity #healthyaging #NA360

Consider applying for the 2024 Massachusetts Community Health & Healthy Aging Fund grants. Full applications will open in the new year, but we are currently accepting inquiries with ideas or approaches aligned with the Funds purpose. We provide feedback to help you determine your eligibility and refine your proposal. This is meant to be illustrative of the type of work the Funds support. There will be 3 funding streams: ~Policy, Systems, and Environmental Change (PSE) - General ~Healthy Aging ~Community Health Improvement Planning Processes (CHIP) In addition, we are offering a planning funding option and capacity building support across the funding streams to help awardees advance their health and racial equity goals.
