🎉 Congratulations to Dr. Sylvia Ramirez, Gunther Scherz, and Remi LEPRINCE (王子雷) on the recent publication of their pilot study in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Journal – Open Access! 📝 The study explores the effectiveness of combining single-depth superficial micro-focused ultrasound (MFU-V) with diluted calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) injections to improve lower facial rejuvenation. The results show significant improvements in wrinkles, skin firmness, and overall aesthetic appearance over 24 weeks, with high patient satisfaction and no serious adverse events. This innovative research highlights the power of combination treatments in addressing multiple signs of aging, providing synergistic benefits that enhance patient outcomes and a promising non-surgical option for facial rejuvenation. 🔗Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/ggykGY3q #AestheticScience #FacialRejuvenation #Ultherapy #Radiesse #CombinationTreatments #MedicalAesthetics #Innovation

📝How the Publication Landscape Has Changed in the Last X Years At Tech Observer, we recently hosted a “Coffee Talk” discussion about the evolving challenges and opportunities in the publication landscape. During this session, a standout takeaway came from GT, our Manager of Medical Communications: "A lot of implicit factors come into play when picking the right journal—it's not just about fit; it's about understanding what's valued behind the scenes." Beyond simply finding a good journal "fit" in terms of aligning content to a journal's scope, authors and sponsors now need to consider a wide range of factors. These include past publications, target audience and audience reach, projected timeline for publication in line with other initiatives, type of journal (e.g., local/regional/international), impact factor and other metrics, author and stakeholder interests, and more. In his coffee talk, GT mentioned how, as medical writing professionals, we're now required to step up further to facilitate this crucial aspect. From deliberately assessing one's publication goals to stakeholder alignment and target journal curation, journal selection is no longer a simple, formulaic process but more of an unfolding conversation (strategic, tactical, and practical) that we can help facilitate. The more well-informed, deliberate, and incisive we are, the better we can steer this conversation toward win-win outcomes for all. We dive deeper into these topics and more in our article, exploring the challenges, innovations, and the road ahead in scientific publishing. 📊Enhancing Data Storytelling in Medical Communications As part of Tech Observer commitment to continuous learning, we recently had a great session on ‘Persuasive Communication with Data Storytelling,’ led by Lee Hwee Theng! The session covered three critical elements that are especially relevant to us as a medical communications team: data, narrative, and visualization. These elements help us go beyond just presenting facts, enabling us to create compelling stories that inform and drive decisions. Key insights we gained: • While data gives us the hard facts, it’s up to us as medical writers to craft narratives that resonate both emotionally and intellectually, making complex information accessible. • We explored how to leverage data visualizations and apply storytelling techniques to effectively engage stakeholders, whether they are healthcare professionals, patients, or decision-makers. • HT shared a step-by-step approach for shaping data into a story: setting up the problem, building insights, delivering the 'Aha Moment,' and proposing actionable solutions. One key takeaway: Data visualization isn’t just about presenting numbers—it’s about turning insights into a narrative that inspires action. 🚀 A big thanks to HT for this valuable session! #DataStorytelling #DataInsights #VisualStorytelling

Following our recent post about a publication on health literacy and nutritional awareness in three Asia Pacific countries, we’re pleased to share another publication that offers a deeper dive into the Vietnamese population: “Awareness of Nutrition and Supplements Among Pregnant and Preconception Women: A Real-World Study in Vietnam.” This study reinforces consistent findings across both publications, showing significant gaps in health literacy (HL) and nutritional awareness among women during preconception and pregnancy, while providing more detailed, Vietnam-specific insights: · 62% of respondents having limited HL, and only 5% demonstrating adequate HL. · Women with limited HL were less likely to use important supplements like multivitamins, iron, and folic acid. · This study also provides valuable cultural nuances and Vietnam-specific data. For example, despite the relatively high educational attainment of the study population, many participants had limited health literacy, suggesting that educational interventions must be specifically tailored to improve HL in Vietnam. These findings point to similar challenges seen across different regions: improving health literacy and nutritional education is key to addressing gaps in maternal nutrition. The need for targeted interventions remains crucial to promoting proper nutrition and supplementation, ultimately supporting the health of mothers and their children during the critical “first 1000 days.” At Tech Observer, we’re proud to assist in this important research and contribute to the conversation on women’s health across regions. 🔗 Read the Vietnam study: https://lnkd.in/gtguZ6Dr #WomensHealth #HealthLiteracy #PrenatalHealth #AsiaPacific #MaternalNutrition #Research #Healthcare

We’re pleased to have assisted with the successful publication of “Real-world insights on nutritional awareness and behaviors among preconception and pregnant women in three Asia Pacific countries.” Congratulations to the authors on this important work! 📝 Key Insights: · There are critical gaps in nutritional awareness and behaviors among preconception and pregnant women, despite dietary recommendations. · Higher health literacy (HL) correlates with better nutritional awareness and increased prenatal supplement use. · Many respondents were unaware of the specific impacts of proper nutrition during conception and pregnancy, highlighting an urgent need for targeted interventions. This publication highlights important gaps in women’s health and nutrition during preconception and pregnancy, especially in regions where data is often lacking. We’re proud to contribute to advancing the conversation on women’s health and look forward to the positive impact these findings can have. On August 1st, we observe #WorldLungCancerDay to raise awareness about this critical issue. Lung cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer worldwide and the leading cause of cancer-related deaths. In Singapore, it ranks as the third most common cancer. We're proud to announce the release of the white paper "Empowering Asian Lung Cancer Advocates," available on The Lung Cancer Education and Advocacy for Patients (LEAP) website (https://lnkd.in/grZrvhKg). This paper, a result of the Hopeful Voices Patient Advocate Roundtable Meeting hosted by LEAP and the Lung Cancer Consortium Singapore (LCCS), provides actionable recommendations to strengthen lung cancer advocacy in Singapore. The Tech Observer medical communications team is honoured to have played a role in producing this meaningful work. Let's continue to advocate for better awareness, education, and support for lung cancer patients and their families. 🌟💙 #WorldLungCancerDay #LungCancerAwareness #PatientAdvocacy #LEAP #LCCS #HopefulVoices
