Do you have pneumatic (air filled) tires in your workplace? If so, do you know how low tire pressure affects the push/pull forces? Believe it or not, tires at 50% of recommended air pressure can almost double the force required to start and maintain pushing or pulling a load. #casters #wheels #ergonomics

Do you have confidence that your caster brakes (locking mechanism) are sufficient for the application? ICWM member companies test the brakes in accordance with ANSI ICWM:2018 Standard. There are several different tests performed, including Wheel Brake and Swivel Lock efficiency (test described in section 4.6) and Brake fatigue / cyclic testing (test described in section 4.7). These tests ensure that the brake will hold and that the brake will still work well over time. The criteria depends on the caster type. Criteria for Industrial casters is defined in section 6; criterial for Institutional and Medical equipment casters is defined in section 7. https://lnkd.in/eCS4tTJz
